  1. Trying to get 14's in 4 x 110 will be hard unless you buy some new ROH Superlite Wheels. I owned this car twice, first time in the late 90's as a stock 3k with the Toyoglide then in about 2003 sporting a shiny red paint job, 5 speed, 7k efi and Sprinter front discs.I gave it a very good cut and buff, re trimmed the interior, added the sunvisor and fender mirrors and the old skool 13" alloys. I could'nt sell it with the 7k so i put a mild 3k back in it. Funny..i was in Balina only a few days ago!.
  2. Unfortunately as the years go on parts are getting harder to find. I do have some limited spares but have to keep them in case I may need them. I'm also using some of my older cars less now days in case of an accident, shame really !.
  3. My 7k in my KE17 is used for motorsport, standard pistons, rods, crank etc. All balanced and lightened, bigger valves and a port job and fed by twin 40mm Webers, dynoed at 105hp ATW. I only rev it to about 6500 but thats plenty because its all torque in just 800kgs of car. You wont find any off the shelf set of extractors to suit, the pipe diameter is to small for 1800cc, my extractors and system was about $2000, engine build not including accessories $3500 and all running through a K50 5 speed with standard clutch and original KE17 diff with LSD. Apart from cracking the extension housing twice the car has been bullet proof since it was buit 4 years ago. This was a fairly mild rebuid according to my engine builder because i still like to use the car for Motokhanas and car runs with the club. My next 7k will be more aggressive and will also run twin 45mm Webers but will be in a Toyota 700 which is about 120kgs lighter than my KE17 Sprinter.
  4. Bought this at a garage sale only because the bell housing had KE30,KE55 & KE70 marked on it. Definately not a Corolla K50 5 speed the box is seperate from the bell housing, i'm thinking T18. If it is how different would the ratios be from the Corolla K50 box. Thinking of changing the K50 out of my KE17, its cracked 2 extension housings?..., possibly the torque of the 7k.
  5. Mats made by Ansell, so designed for plesure not acceleration...
  6. My son who is now 10 used it. Originally from when he was about 7 in a booster seat, worked a treat and he loved it !.
  7. Still comes up alright after a quick wash and vac, all ready for tomorrows show at Easter Creek. When i checked my log this old girl has only done 340miles in the last 2 1/2 years.
  8. A few years back i sold Greville Arnel some new old stock KE25 door rubbers and dash top for his KE25 Bathurst car which he still has. He has raced a number of cars at bathurst during the 60's and 70's and i think he still has them all. I have expressed an interest in the KE25 if he was never going to get around to restoring it but to date he still owes it. That reminds me, i must give him a call. Also if you remember the replica KE10 race car that was at the Motoring Museum at Bathurst its currently under going a restoration. I had to supply Toyota with a bonnet because the old one was very rusty.
  9. The blue KE10 was just going to be detailed but i ended up pulling it appart to get into all those nooks and crannies. I removed all the bright work & lights, side glass, all the interior and everything from the engine bay except actual engine.I had to replace the front apron because it was bent and i also had the wheels repainted but other than a major detail of all the bits the car is still basically unrestored.

  11. Nothing wrong with "old school" horse power. My 7K has been in my car for the last 3 years, done plently of race events & daily drives with nothing but regular oil changes. Makes 105hp at the wheels, easy to drive and starts every time ( unless the batterys flat ). No engineering issues, easy to maintain and service and to most people looks just like the original 3k. I'm not sure how old you are but for the less experienced driver there's enough grunt here to get you into serious trouble. As for the weight thing, my KE17 comes in at 833kg with me in it, 3/4 tank of fuel and a half and a bit cage. My car also is pretty much complete including carpet, heater, seats etc. The only things i've removed is the front bumper for looks and the back section of back seat for the cage fitment. If you want to do the Beams thing, better in a KE70/AE71.
  12. That silver RT72 in your first post is mine, and yes its also been ages since i was on this Forum. Work, family and other car interests have been taking up much of my time. From the looks of the pics that parts car is an SL, so it should be an 8R 1900, twin SU type carbies, tacho dash, sports type steering wheel, tinted glass, disc front end and possible an LSD in the rear. Make sure you remove all the stainless trim, tailights, windows and basically whatever you can. They are a very rare breed so any spares you can gather will always help. I actually got mine out of the shed yesterday, it was due for rego and a service. When i checked my records it was 2 and a half yeras since i filled it with fuel and i only travelled about 340 miles in that time. New fuel and a service and she's running fine again. Looking forward to seing more pics !.
  13. That daily RT40 looks great, just missing a rear blind in mat black. Very well done, just enough to turn heads. These RT40 are a very underated daily, much more comfortable than a Corolla of the same year.
  14. Have a spare entry but no driver, if you can be a my place in Faulconbridge at about 7.30 you'll have a great ride...MS 83 wagon, KE10 & KE11. SMS 0416 065 510 and i'll call you back!
  15. Yep Globe Sprintmasters from the 70's, actually bought the wheels about 12 years ago at a swap meet then found the centre caps on Ebay about 3 years ago. Always knew a car would come along that would suit them !!. As for the dent in the left front guard i'm leaving that one. I'm now only going to do the rust and just replace the stainless trim on the boot with an undamaged one. Just don't want to start painting bits all over the car, i actually like that kinda used worn look, it give the car a bit of character and keeps it more original.
