  1. My lordy we are going to have quite the turn out! kangaroosa i reckon you are on to something there... the girls in bikinis would have been enough, let along the fast boats :)
  2. Get radiator recored. Best $200 you will ever spend on your cooling system.
  3. Peter Robinson Automotive in Oakleigh is a corolla/k-series guru and would be able to either tune it up for you, or get it sorted through his carby man. Not sure when he is back at work, but he isn't there this week so far.
  4. Yeap our thoughts are with you folks.. hard to comprehend how much of a mess it is up there. Just be safe and look after yourselves and your loved ones. Cars and possessions can be replaced, lives can't!
  5. Oh and it will cost you $20 to get in. Yes its early.. but that is so we get in and get a good spot... this show is seriously big!
  6. One of the biggest car shows of the year is coming up ladies and gents.. hopefully some of you can come along. Note it has an emphasis on cars 25 years and older, but if you come in with the group something a little later may well sneak through. Some details: Cruise to the event will depart from the BP northbound at Calder Park, leaving 7.30am sharp! Meet there from 7.00am if you are going to be wanting fuel for your car, or coffee for yourself. We will leave as a group at 7.30am SHARP! None of the bullshit faffing about that some normally do Stick together as a group, and just after we turn off the freeway we should stop for a regroup and collect everyone to make it easier for entry as a group. If we get separated tell the organising guys you are part of a group and head for the oval as that is where we are intending to be. NE group pre-meet up point - BP Eltham 6am for a 6.30am departure. Cruise to BP Calder to meet rest of the group. This show is so big some people take a bike so they can get around to see all the cars. Its big! Some photos from last year are here - http://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/HangingRockCarShowFebruary2010# Website for the show - http://www.picnicathangingrock.com.au/
  7. Did you get many takers Tate?
  8. White wall is too thick and too far from the rim... car is too white for the look too :)
  9. yep cool car :)
  10. I had a 18rg rebuilt recently.. cost me bucket loads.... $900ish for the custom arias pistons from the USA... $250 for the gasket set from SW Motorsport if I recall correctly... then $200 for the custom Cometic headgasket from the USA cos I went big pistons... $800 to fix corrosion in the head... plus usual machining moneys, bearings, etc etc. Then it was another $500 or so for getting the carbys rebuilt.... Sounds awesome though :)
  11. Having just gone through this on the Mrs' mazda, its definitely your master cylinder bypassing. If there is no leak around the slave, and you aren't losing fluid, its time to replace the master.
  12. Do you want me to email the TCCA people Tate?
  13. Old Crown utes are awesome.. love what you are doing with this one!
  14. Quick reminder that the Club BBQ is on tomorrow (Saturday) 11am for Coffee and Donuts,. and then sausages and refreshments at Frank's place in Mill Park PM me for more details - members and non-members welcome.
  15. Just a reminder that the presentation night is this evening at the Emerald Hotel.
  16. Cusco make a camber top that suits a KE30/35/55 - TE37 I think is the model in Japan. Speak with AJPS - Dave has sold me a set.
  17. He mentions in the thread that the wheels are superlites ;)
  18. Its a good photo I took though ;)
  19. Surely the simple answer here is that the little Toyota's weren't sold in huge numbers over there and what did get sold probably got eaten by rust long ago??
  20. Hi folks There are a few events coming up for TCCA that we would like to see as many members and visitors attend! First one is our final general meeting for the year coming up next Tuesday, 14th December. Will be both the general meeting and the Club's Presentation Night. Nibbles on offer too so please come along. Venue is Emerald Hotel, 415 Clarendon St, South Melbourne. Night starts at 8pm, but we will be there from 7pm for dinner. Its great well priced food too! Second event is the Club Christmas Party. To be held on Saturday 18th December, it will be at Frank's place at Mill Park. Starting at 11am and winding up about 3pm, it will also be the venue for Coffee, Cars and Donuts for December. As I am sure Frank doesn't want his address published on the net, please PM me for details. Once again all members, and non-members are welcome to come along for a sausage, a donut or a swim in Frank's pool. If you want to know more, please send me a message. Cheers Adam
  21. Update time... The idle mixture screws arrived from Rodger in Canberra after many apologies. We put those in and she fired up with very little effort. I decided while it was on the hoist I should put my RT132 front struts in for the brake upgrade, along with some koni inserts. Did all that, along with a pair of King Low springs (realised it had King standards in it when it was up on the hoist at some point). Then I thought I just needed to bleed the brakes and I was off! Sadly it didn't quite work like that, as one of the brake lines was leaking badly at the master cylinder I had put in (MA70 Supra 1" bore MC) So after some mucking around I managed to strip the thread completely.. grrrr. Anyways, the boys here machined the hole up to take a new adaptor, and then we put a screw on fitting on the end of the line. Finally it went all back together, and bled up to give me a great pedal. Dropped it on the ground and rolled it off the hoist and took it for a couple of laps of the business park. It stops well... goes well... revs so easily its silly! So to a couple of photos: Now all I have left is to put the console back together... fit the badges... fit an exhaust (currently a straight pipe off the headers!) and that is about it... then she will be ready for a summer cruise! Very exciting :)
  22. I would suggest having a good read through the posts here, heaps of ideas on building tough K series engines. Other suggestion, keep away from the beer and bats... the poor girl doesn't need the abuse!
  23. Good attitude son... it will get you far with the authorities...and your insurance company..... So what happens if you have another crash in your unengineered corolla and kill someone? The insurance company will walk away and tell you to pay the bills yourself. What then?
  24. Sadly the Celica won't be coming to this one... or any of my other fleet! We are moving the next weekend, so I will be busy finalising stuff for that :)
  25. Weekend past was all about the Victorian Day of the Volkswagen... there was a cruise on Friday night through parts of collingwood, richmond, down chapel st and through St Kilda. The reaction of people on the street was priceless. Sunday we were out at Yarra Valley Racecourse for the show itself, there were lots of cars to enjoy. Here are some pics from the cruise and a link to all of the ones I took: http://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/LuftRanchoToOnTopBarCruiseNovember2010?feat=directlink A couple of favourites... And all my photos from the show itself are here followed by a few favourite cars http://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/DayOfTheVolkswagen2010# The bright sunshine did me no favours and all my photos are a tad bright... oh well...
