Big night! Thanks to all that attended.. we had 28 people there. When I first joined that was about the total membership of the club and there were about 4 people at the meeting. So thanks again :)

the better the equipment, the better the finish is going to be... definitely get a water trap... definitely consider spending a little more money on a bigger compressor as for a spray gun.. go to your local auto paint supply shop, not supercheap.. and ask what they can do for you and what they suggest. you might end up with a better gun for similar money.. and they are more likely to offer some good advice using it if you go in with the right approach.

"keeping original" and "some what drift capabale" are opposites... you can't have pieces of both those cakes. The boys here are right.. lower it.. some nice wheels... enjoy it. The sad fact is that most of us on our P's have had an "incident" at some point that makes a mess of our nice cars.. we all knew better and were more invincible than the next bloke.. but it still happened. Leaving her mostly stock will be good for you :)

I don't really know the car other than taking photos of it at a show. I think it came in as a evaluation car with Toyota or something originally so its been here all its life.. i forget what the story was. You can see the fender mirrors were taken off, there is covers on the tops of the guards, so Toyota probably did that to make it legal with the rules of the day. As for paint. No idea. Maybe he just didn't like the stripes. It also no longer has a 2tg and is 3sg powered now if i recall correctly.

man there is some cool shit at centre rd at the moment... orange ke20 mostly dismantled but its there... the *s40 crown... mx32 cressida... a complete corona rt40 even with its keys.. which is in addition to the other one that has been there for eons... and the vw squareback dave told me about months ago... will have to go back tomorrow and actually take some tools with me :D fark all corolla stuff of note though...

Gloss black is up there with the hardest colours to paint.. if your body work preparation is not 100% awesome, every dent, womble, wave and poor fitting part on your car will be magnified 100 times over with the gloss black. And it will look shit with your brown interior. I'd stick with a yellow myself..they can look great in yellow. If you want something more modern go for a modern version of yellow.. like the current ve commodore colour or something.

The next Cars, Coffee and Donuts meet is to be held on the 17th of April. This month meet will be on the other side of town with it being held at Mt Dandenong. It will be at the Sky High cafe. As per usual it will run from 8:30 - 10:30. Entry to the area is $5 per car. Yeah I loved the wheels... you are right I should have kept them.... they certainly didnt deserve to end their life with frangipani's on their centres!!

the 2t-c motor in stock form is a truck motor... don't waste your time and effort.... if its an old lady car it probably needs a few good long runs and some runs through the hills to clean out all the carbon deposits in it. you would be amazed what a difference that can make along with a good tune. you would also be amazed what a 4k or 5k will do to it without a lot of effort or farking around :)
