  1. why not compare part numbers on the whiteline website and see what you come up with?
  2. kehendo grabbed the steering wheels while we were raping the rt40 of its bars for tate the other week they look like they are in the middle of another big clean out
  3. Hi folks Thought I had posted this here, but apparently not. A few of us from TCCAV are planning to head to Toyotafest this year. I think we have 3 or 4 cars and a few more passengers interested at this stage. I am open to how we do it, but current thinking is we drive up Friday at a leisurely, whale like pace.. Enjoy the festivities Saturday and Sunday. Drive home Monday. Dates would be 30th September - 3rd October. But we can flex those based on general consensus. If you were really keen you would stay the week up there and go to Bathurst the following weekend! There are lots of accommodation options in Sydney. All my family is up there so I will take the free options that are available with that but I am sure the group can work something out too. So all those who are keen, but will probably pull out the week before, now is your chance to say you are in ;)
  4. Your car looks friggin sweet as it is... don't mess with it too much! I think those 15's will look overly massive on your KE10 and the guard flareage would be a sad thing for such a sweet little car. What about widened stockies? Either way. each to their own, your car, your choice :)
  5. There are a couple of good ones on the back of KE20's at Peter Robinsons I noticed yesterday :)
  6. here is what i was thinking, thanks to bugselecta
  7. sounding like a better plan :) i like the car and its potential stay away from fibreglass guards too... they look cool as fuch with original steel... put some with 135 tyres on the front and 175's with your lowering and it will be sweet needs a period roof rack too.. though they wont be so good for carrying your bike!
  8. I don't reckon it would be too hard to recreate the pitstop ones... scan the logo from the service book stuff and you would be 90% of the way there heaps of places will custom make stickers for you from that point they would be a cool thing :)
  9. We like all cars.. bring them along :)
  10. You kinda missed my point.. i don't really give a sh*t what order you do it in.. i was saying if you don't have the skills to work out a relatively simple thing like a cooling issue then maybe you shouldn't be f*cking with your suspension(and thats cool if you don't have those skills, everyone has to learn some where, and I did that with my first celica and its cooling system)..
  11. Awesome.. I reckon I will have to give my brother's new car a run to this one :)
  12. That's a special lady you have your self there my friend... I have loved the old shovel nose ever since there was a dark green one in fast fours with cream leather and 4age motivation...look forward to developments!
  13. Some extra info from Crazy on toymods His number is 0419 302 145.. he typed it wrong in previous messages...in other news: Reccy now done, details as per earlier post. Distance is approx 190km, all sealed roads, I used half a tank of fuel including a few detours and backtracking episodes to make sure there were no dirt roads. Pub meals ranging from pizza, fish, parmas and steaks. Open fire for the cold days and beer garden for the sunny days. Total driving time approx 3 hrs depending on how much sightseeing you want to do in Marysville. Steavenson falls are only 10 mins from the township for those interested and there are a few interesting gift shops popping up in marysville since the fires. I hope you will support the local trades to help their recovery. I'm planning to leave Marysville approx 11.45 to give people time to look around town. Fuel is now available in Marysville and Buxton. See you on the 22nd. He has suggested everyone turn up with full tank of gas, which sounds sensible to me. Have a great time, I will be in Sydney with my brother and the vw nationals
  14. With out wanting to be too much of a nancy.. it worries me a little that you are struggling to diagnose an overheating problem with your engine, and now are talking about messing with your suspension. Overheating is pretty simple... and could be a combination of coolant loss, stuffed radiator, stuffed water pump, stuffed thermostat. Could be blocked radiator hoses too. Or a headgasket because you cooked it. Torsion bar lowering mods are pretty simple.. but it is your suspension we are talking about here. If you are struggling with the easy stuff, the slightly more difficult could be a worry for your safety....
  15. Ajax Wheels in Moorabbin is where you should be going, but you want west side. Sometimes it pays to travel.
  16. 6 months since I have posted anything of note on the car.. Guess much hasn't changed.. she cruises effortlessly each time I pull her out of the shed and aside from a service in the last month, and some wheel centre caps I put on, I have done bugger all to it. Oh I did put her on club rego which is awesome! I am still enjoying driving it...gets heaps of looks and comments where ever you go. Couple of photos from a VW swap meet I went to at Williamstown today...
  17. Comfy and secure. Damn good value at $500 for an FIA approved seat too :)
  18. Stu stu stu.. why is your mate's Tiara on ebay already? Its look sweet!!
  19. I had forgotten you had this... until I saw it on ebay for sale! Good luck with the sale, she is a beauty.
  20. damn corolla nerds :P
  21. Its on again tomorrow night.. Tuesday... Emerald Hotel. Be there :)
  22. hehe as it turns out I decided to drive to and from the track yesterday on the semi's as I couldn't be assed changing them at the track! Anyways as a spur of the moment decision on Friday, I decided to run in a Sprint at Sandown on Sunday. Weather wasn't particularly nice, only got one truly dry session in before the rained spoiled proceedings, but it was still lots of fun. New seat made a massive difference to my enjoyment of the driving.. and I was loving the ability I had to stand on the brakes much much later than most of the other competitors (where my courage allowed!). I also realised that my love for the car is dependent on what wheels its got on. The stockies for road driving don't flatter her at all..bolt on the semi's that are a bit bigger... suddenly she looks a million bucks! Car prep for the Charade is awesome for a track day.. wash it.. vacuum it... give the levels and belts a quick check... bolt on the semi slicks and off you go! Hammer it all day and then drive home. Love it. Anyways a few photos New seat And a little video (complete with all the annoyances you have come to know and love) of my first dry session. Includes a bit of a spin at around the 2min 20 mark! http://youtu.be/qN4doCEb0D4 I did a best time of 1.42.15, which was about a second slower than Pete in the yellow swift - doh! He was braver than me...that is my story and i am sticking to it... Joey did a 1.37 in the Celica which is pretty good going on his old Formula Ford tyres!
  23. Well she is washed.. and I tightened the power steering belt up. That is about the extent of prepartion she needs, so fingers crossed its a good day tomorrow :)
  24. I reckon you are stressing too much.. or taking too much shit to the race track if you need a trailer to take it all :)
