  1. And probably damned hard to find in Australia too... If you are just getting your licence... exactly how many mods are you allowed to do to your car from a legal perspective? I got the impression these days mods were a no no for a newly licensed driver?
  2. Colin don't bother going.. it was cancelled weeks ago http://www.camscarnival.com.au/media_release.asp
  3. Normally need a spacer ring for each axle for the disc brake conversion mentioned above. There is a very good "how to" thread on toymods that covers it.
  4. Just when I think I am getting over my Corolla "thing"... very nice, reckon it will look even better once you have done your plans.. I like the idea of some sign writing too... can be done in vinyl so it can be removed if needed too. Just make sure you use good quality vinyl.
  5. My KE10 didn't hvae belts in the back... and my KE15 parrot has (sob!) so what he says must be right... :)
  6. I had a radiator re-cored for my KE10 just a few years ago for around $180. Full ally custom job wouldn't cost you $800, someone is smoking crack there!
  7. You were just waiting for me to post mine weren't you Dave! Good turn out, here are some photos More.. And the rest... I left about 9.30am so if any one turned up after that sorry I missed them :)
  8. Do you need any bits for this? An old guy contacted me yesterday through TCCA witha collection of rust free panels and tail lights etc for an RT81. All in Melbourne. PM me if you want his details :)
  9. Tomorrow night is club meeting night I think :)
  10. This thread is hilarious... you have a locker and are worried about the inside wheel tramping at car park speeds? There is only one genuine solution. F*ck off the locker.
  11. Vicroads didn't blink when I did the engine number change in my KE10, though I think they had a bit of trouble getting the number to go into the system as the guy did go looking for a supervisor at one stage. Theoretically any increase in capacity may well require engineering, but there are some that are easier to get away with than others. This is one of those.
  12. If you were to put a T-series diff in it from a Celica or Corona you would have the advantage of a some what stronger rear end, that also has bigger drum brakes on them. You can then upgrade the drums to discs quite easily of you find a Corona T-series disc brake rear end. But its not a mind blowingly better diff, so there are probably better options out there like the Skyline one.
  13. centre rd wreckers normally has a collection of e7 cars that might be worth hitting up... or put a wanted ad up
  14. a 15 second search came up with this... i think it will answer your questions http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=12068
  15. Hi folks Rob Roy Hillclimb is on again this Sunday September 5th. For those that don't know, Rob Roy is out in Christmas Hills on the outer edges of Melbourne north-east. Its a great event and great spot, and there are usually a few Toyota's racing up the hill. Unfortunately I can't make this one as I am in Sydney for a family gathering, but would be good to get a few TCCA/toymods/rollaclub people up there. Regs are here - http://www.mgcc.com.au/robroy/index.shtml - you can do it in your road car, just need a fire extinguisher fitted, a battery triangle, and something to hold the bonnet down. Oh and a CAMS licence which is easy enough to arrange if you are quick, and your car club membership (TCCA can help you there!)
  16. Turns out the Federation does 4 picnics a year.. .one on Australia Day, one in Pakenham, this one in Marong and another one else where that I forget. Nice mix of cars... including a few Toyotas. Well Crowns actually.. all Crowns...I reckon we should put one of these on the social calendar next year.. maybe this one since its 6 months or so after Hanging Rock. It was a good Sunday drive home too, as I avoided the freeway, and had a great pie at Malmsbury! Here are some Toyota and Japanesey pics.... And one of my car to finish it off Lots more of the vw's... some mini's... and some aussie and american muscle here: http://picasaweb.google.com/adamlaws1974/F...cnicMarong2010#
  17. Fords run a Ford based engine, Holdens run a GM based engine. Much of the rest of the car is identical in spec, but the engines are still different. And I think you will find it was the R32 GTR that led to the introduction of what we now know as V8 supercars.
  18. Bathurst weekend. I won't be leaving the couch. Have fun guys!
  19. Roger the photos request :)
  20. What model Corolla do you have? That will help point you in the direction of brake upgrade info.
  21. Hi folks If any one is looking for something to do on Sunday that involves a bit of a drive you might be interested in this... I am attending with some VW guys. Basically it sounds like a mini Hanging Rock, held in Marong at the sports ground, which is just outside of Bendigo.. the Federation of Vintage, Veteran and Classic Vehicles Clubs holds a number of picnics through the year, where all their clubs can drive to and show off their pride and joy. The VW guys are heading off at 7.30am from the Calder outbound BP.. meeting up with our Bendigo counterparts, and then cruising into the picnic. Apparently they get 500 cars up there so might be worth a Sunday drive if you are feeling that way inclined. Adam
  22. I think you are on it there parrot... its one thing to say and ask for 10 or 15K... its another thing entirely to have the car together to ask that... and then find someone to pay for it. for what ever reason our old Toyotas still arent loved as much as the old Dattos and Mazdas.
  23. Unique is certainly the word :jamie:
  24. Prices vary dramatically with condition. Project cars that needs lots of work are 2 or 3... But a good one is at least 5 grand, and probably more like 8 grand. There is one for sale on carsales at the moment for 10 grand I think.
  25. There it is in all its glory ... hounding a Mini... or maybe having a Mini blow past a warp factor 9 :jamie: In other news I installed a set of King's finest Low springs in it on the weekend. Would have been an easy task if not for the fact some nong before me had installed the shocks in such a manner that all the rear brake hardware had to come off to get the bottom bolt out of the rear strut... It was rather dark when I was done, so photos another day!
