engine brace as in one of those little shock exsorber things? Well I would have to say anything would be a more worthwhile mod than that! However the swaybar would cost more. But then if your talking cost EFFECTIVE then the shock exsorber has feck all effect whereas swaybar has a huge effect!

hey everyone. Just a quick question. I have a set of extractors to suit a 4age 16V smallport in an ae92. My question is will they fit a 4afe in an ae92? I thought the bolt pattern was the same but I'm not sure. Cheers Cerby

WOOHOO!!!!! Thats the best news i've had in ages. But the lower it is the more camber as well right? Maybe i just need to go a bit lower. OH SNAP!! Dad broke the smaller grinder the other day!! I suppose i'll have to use the nine inch that always tries to sever your closest limb when you turn it on :P yeah I didn't touch the castor arms but I had a feeling that the new control arms pulled the castor forward a bit. When I went and got the wheel alignment done I didn't get told what the old settings were (other than the toe being out by 26mm i did it by eye :P ) but they told me that the settings were 0.75 degree castor, -0.75 degree camber and a slight toe in (I can't remember exactly) I was a bit annoyed cos the last time i'd been they turned the steering wheel till one wheel was right the adjusted the other one which meant the steering wheel wasn't centred. So I asked the guy to do it properly and centre the steering wheel and to give it 2 degree castor and 0.5 degree toe out. Spent ages explaining it and the tool went and looked up the factory specs and set the car to those. Pity cos the guy who owns the tire place is with out a doubt the best guy i've ever dealt with, always beats everyone elses prices, remembered me by name after I'd been like three times AND started chucking any second hand tires in the sizes i use aside for me, unfortunately his wheel alligner is a dick!

Okay heres what i know. I swapped my ae71 struts for ae86 struts with ae86 power steering arms (which give you more lock). I originally used the ae71 control arms, but later swapped to xt130 conorna arms, which apparently gave me -0.75 degrees camber. I had been told that i should get around -2 degrees. I was after -2 and not any more and this seemed like the best value way to go rather than spend and $200 at least for adjustable strut tops. Also I had some ae92 Koni yellow adjustable shocks for the ae86 struts :P I used the strut tops from the ae86 struts. So the questions are is there any problems with using the ae86 strut tops when ae86 struts are put in an ae71? (I haven't found any yet) AND Will I get more camber if i use the ae71 strut tops on the ae86 struts?

Hahaha. I just looked at the prices that everyone else is selling theirs for. Since i know your on ae86dc i know you saw that i would swap them $240 worth of front lip and the price is also negotiable Also the only way you get any money for leaf is when you sell to dumb wannabees in year 8  and actually now you mention it i bought a t18 for $300 drove it for a couple of weeks, then swapped the diff into my sprinter and sold the t18 on $150. So i agree with your statement :bash: Though that t18 had the ugly bars
-
I'm selling my t18 chrome bars in order to fund a new ###### lip so i just thought i'd mention it  $350 for the pair they have all the mounting brackets which haven't been modded in any way.

I've got a smallport ecu out of an ae92/93 if you want it? $100 or whatever. No wiring loom though, but i can point you in the direction of the fella who wired mine up if you want? He did a pretty good/neat job. Not perfect but it cost less than $250!!

gordie on boostcrusing is parting an ae71. I took the headlights indicators and front bumper but i think it still had a good beaver panel on it!

the same thing happened in my celica. basically there is a little box somewhere in your car with 4 coils of wire in it. When you move your switch it changes which coil the current flows through. Basically the coils that run the first to speeds have snapped. When i pulled my old one out the coils were so brittle they were like ash!
-
buy the coil over sleeve set, springs and keeper springs and top hats. ae92 shocks fit the struts. shorten the strut by 40mm and wack some 20mm spacers in the bottom. all done!

hey man what sort of quads are those?? this looks disturbingly like my car :y: Mine is a white ae71 with green/grey front end.....with a smallport 16V and quads :D Though i did just take all the bump strips and pinstriping off the car so we might be safe!! Regarding coil overs the only real benefits that i can see over a good shock and spring combo is adjustable height and a better range of springs! Plus you should reinforce both top and bottom mounts for the rear coilovers which can be a real bitch! If you really are keen then have a look on the ###### site he has good ones on there. hahaha we aren't allowed to say A to the J to the P to the muthafecking S. read the caps.

channel auto wreckers had about 3 or 4 ke70's last time i was desperate enough to put up with his shit!! should be able to get a diff centre from there only expect to pull it out your self if you want it done at all!!
-
i have a set of white ae 92 doors $150 if your only after one, $200 for both sides!
-
why put in an s series?? since there aren't readily available lsds for them and they aren't as strong as the ae71 borgie anyway?? I sincerely hope you were joking

Cool! its for one of my friends, her dads a mechanic and asked me to find the parts for her car so i'll pass on your details to him and he will get in contact with you! Cheers Cerby

hey guys I'm after a 5 speed to replace a k40 in a 1979 ke30. Also after a good 3K head ( or whole motor), door handles for the same car and boot seals! Cheers Cerby

are the stock ae93 sandwich plates thermostatic?? I'm about to swap a 4age into my ae71 and i was just planning on using the stock sandwich plate with an aftermarket cooler. but if the standard plate isn't thermostatic then i will probably have to find one!
-
from the reading i have done the common consensus is that the biggest you can run without stuffing with the shims is around 288 but the biggest you can run comfortably on the standard ecu is 272 ( apparently its pretty lumpy though) Without an aftermarket ecu the gains will not be massive but I'm told that when you swap to bigport cams in the smallport ( around 10/15 increase) there seems to be more torque low down and a bit more power at higher revs!!

hey everyone I used to own a blue ae86 in the hobart kingston area which people may have seen getting around. Anyway i sold it to make uni easier and have since decided that i prefer having a decent fun car, a job, money and a life to repeating engineering classes. SSSOOOOO i am trying to find a ae71 for less than two grand. Needs to be registered and reasonably road worthy. Ive been chasing one for a while but all i've been able to find are autos of daims beast ( which i can't afford :( ) Anyway help will be very much appreciated and any information leading to a buy will be rewarded with BEER!!!!!! Cheers Cerby
