  1. Due to someone having a grudge and not having enough balls to confront me, they smashed my driver's mirror off. Either that or random vandalism, and this is the 2nd time now. Last time I was egged for the record. Now KE55 coupe parts are as rare as hen's teeth down here in Newcastle and I don't really fancy buying parts interstate and buggering around with postage. I was wondering if anyone knows of a aesthetically pleasing replacement that could bolt straight onto the standard screw holes, and would be easy to come by. I know that XA GT Falcons fit perfectly, but they'd be even rarer again. Any suggestions? What replacements have you blokes used?
  2. It's the fact an idiot like me can ask a stupid question and still get a decent answer. Because I'm young and still learning this has been a great place to expand my knowledge. I like that I always get a good educated answer and there's not to many c#$kheads around. The only other decent forum I've found is oldholden so far.
  3. Sorry if this is threadjacking but I was doing my HPT for my Green P's, (you know the one where you have to react to the hazards) and I swear there was a old yellow Corolla sitting out the front of someone's place on the screen. Looked a bit past it though. I think I failed that question due to distraction. :P Too bad the bastard RTA has no keyboards or I would've hit the print screen button It's on the question where the Commodore wagon comes down the driveway and doesn't stop, for anyone going for their greens.
  4. Try the little variable resistor that varies the intensity of the dash lights. With age I believe they get a little 'crusty'. Mine will only work with a little manipulation, and turning it right up will actually turn it off, you have to turn it back a little.
  5. Well firstly try not to post twice in future :bash:. Have you had a wheel alignment?
  6. That KE38, I've seen it at the burnout comps before. It's a wagon isn't it? It's like the only not Ford/Holden/Chev that actually does well. Looks like I'll be buying that issue!
  7. The 4k engine was produced between 1978 and 1989 But really the first K engine, the 1K or just K (which I personally have never seen) was first produced in 1966, and the 4K is just an oversized version of this. So really it's a 43 year old design. I believe the first 4K came out on the KE55 but could have come out earlier e.g. KE30. The KE70 also had the 4K.
  8. LOWNSXC My teachers's son's fully sik pimped out civic braaaa :)
  9. It seems as though the smaller the engine, the more petrol it uses. I'm told the 5k uses less petrol in comparison to the 3k and 4k because you use less of the go pedal.
  10. I've heard of people getting thicker head gaskets, is this possible?
  11. But he never actually said 7k he only mentioned 1.8L
  12. Personally don't like them anyway, prefer the s15
  13. Mate you have very high expections of a 40 year old, carburettored design. Only now are modern hybrids and ultra-efficient diesels edging towards the 6 litre/hundred mark. By comparison, my mothers 1995 kj 1.6litre laser gets 9litres/hundred, and that's with EFI, DOHC, and all other shit they put on cars these days. I don't think automatics do anything to lessen fuel consumption but with the figures you're getting, I don't think you have much to complain about.
