  1. ok so i woke up quite late today had a hard night lol, hit up auto barn for some paint and sand paper, Painted the door trims and bumpers along with the grill all gloss / matte was like in between black. Let me know what use think! This is just about done for the body work. time to start looking into the engine, i have to fix this throttle problem I'm going to use keiths idea wich is to hang up the cable and lube it up once in a while to get things moving inside. if that doesnt work i'll have to look into other things. I'm currently looking for a decent carby set up for it, and i'll be installing the new 2inch exhaust system with extractors this week hopefully! ;) i've been quite lazy lately i hate wiring things up but i'll have to install my head unit and splits soon :lolcry: so boring without sounds. thats it for the mean time thanks,
  2. Great work champ, what size exhaust have you got on it? the cannon aswell? cheers.
  3. Thanks Champ ;), I'm going to paint the rest of it today so it should look sweet i'll take some decent pics after i clean her up abit. 10 more days till i get my lisence woohooo! :lolcry: can't wait then i can start cruising with the best of the best hahah.
  4. Ok so this morning i woke up at 5am, got stuck into it. taping up all the windows frames handles etc, started painting about 6am was dead calm no wind and perfect temprature so i coverd it in primer, once it dryed i sanded it back. hit it with the silver x2 coats, removed the bonnet and boot lid then hit it with 3 coats of clear. painted the bonnet and boot lid with flat pearl black then hit it with 1 coat of clear, i ran out of thinners. i'll let the pics do the talking for now :) still some painting to be done like mirrors door frames bumpers and grill. Starting to tape up. In primer ready to go Bonnet and boot lid being taken off. The end product! :y: Looks better then before haha. Plans for the future; exhaust next week, stezza i just bought to be put in, paint the bumpers etc black. new door trims and she should be done, possibly going quad headlights chrome bumpers and fendor mirros i'll have to wait about 2 - 3 weeks tho, my pay checks are all gone haha. :( Let me know what use think!
  5. Hey bud look good mate, keen to see her finished! quick question, where abouts did u order the strut brace from? Cheers dan.
  6. Yeah chrome would go alright.. I'm considering re-carpeting mine and doing the door trims like u've done. it looks so neat like that, i'm chasing some fendor mirrors for it atm :) once i get it painted and sorted I'm most likely going quad light and chrome bumbers. you mind if i ask how much ur carpet cost?, btw does anyone know what model dash matts will fit a ke70? i've seen plenty of 88-92 corolla dash matts but can't seem to find a good shape. Dan.
  7. Well i cut about 2 coils off my stock springs in my ke70 this is how it sits with 14's on it. :) i think 2 coils max is the best. i've got some realllyyy low springs for the rear but its too low for my liking anyways. Dan.
  8. I had a look earlyer today and the cable does have a bit of slack on idle position, it idles at about 1100 rpm nicely after a few secconds to warm up. at intersections etc it's fine. only when ur driving past 20kmph ish that the throttle sometimes sticks on, and when i change gears it stays on so it revs the engine a fair bit when i push the clutch in. I'm sure it's not th pedal either. it could be the cable is old and brittle or springs not so sure its the carby. when i slow right down it doesnt do it only occasionally. Cheers.
  9. great to see ur getting stuck into it mate, i love the door cards i had the same sort of idea for my car just easyer to buy a decent pair of door cards and fit it for me haha :) good work. Dan.
  10. Haha thanks bro i need to hit up the wreckers soon aswell lol. I've got a mate to lend me an orbital sander for the mean time he has 2 so we should get stuck into the car today and smash it. i'll also paint the bonnet and bootlid today hopefully. :) happy new year everyone.
  11. yeah that's the perfect height i was aiming for i couldnt be happier with it myself, i think the previous owner changed the brake fluid when they replaced the brake booster and cylinder. so yeah it's working fine now, should get stuck into painting it this weekend hopefully!. does anyone know a decent cheap exhaust shop around brisbane? cheapest i got quoted was 300 for 2inch with resonator and sports muffler all the way through with my extractors installed. Cheers.
  12. yeew, my rolla should be done before the 28th :( so I'm pretty sure i'll be able to make it. hopefully you can bring both justin :)
  13. The problem is with the cable I'm pretty sure, i've sprayed shitloads of crc on the pedal springs and the return springs. but it still does it, I'm not sure if it could be something else simple. Cheers.
  14. Oh true i didn't know such a place exsisted :) well i'll be sure to look them up! Cheers.
  15. awesome, also with the water temp fittings you don't need the adaptors that come with the sensor for a ke70 not sure of other models if people were wondering what that bolt is for :)
  16. Ok so almost finished up for the day, cut the stock springs to make the rear sit abit higher compared to them gangsta low ones :) went to the tyre shop and got 4 brand new tyres fitted and balanced, also had to bleed the brakes now they are working better then ever! fitted the rear springs in and new rims, started to sand back the bonnet and boot lid ready to be painted tomoro, other pannels have been put on hold atm my sander disc broke on me this morning! Dammn! :( Does anyone know whats good to polish up rims? these are quite dirty n all. Heres some pics!
  17. yeah i figured that, the fronts have had about 1 and half - 2 coils cut off them, luckly it's the rears that i have to change not so much a pain it's like a 10minute job, so i'll pull them out measure to the stock ones i'll probably cut about 2 coils off.
  18. So i was driving down the highway and noticed this beast of a thing come up beside me so i pulled my phone out and had to take a pic lol, the car was packed with atleast 8 massive islanders. rocking the negative cam and tucking the rear rims
  19. Had the day off work today, got stuck into it early this morning, pulled the struts out and put the cut springs in, also replaced the front disc brake pads and rear shoes. chucked in the cut springs and lowerd it, finnally sits right. altho I'm still abit iffy on the height at the rear, i think the front sits perfect! but the rear mite need to come up just a bit. Going soon to pick up new tyres for my wanabes, they should be on this afternoon yay!
  20. Thats guys, yeah no problems, it's acrillic tho i've found a painter to do it for me now so it should be sweet, thankyou for ur help anyway  cheers.
  21. ah el tacos es los tacos se componen de pollo picante y ensalada de! (why not have both! oldel tacos!) sorry you got me carried away :y: haha yeah sorry guys i went to a public school in logan, so yeah as you can tell my englash is no good
  22. haha not quite the trick i want to use, i may pop down to the wreckers down the road see if they got any decent throttle cables, in the mean time while I'm there i'll check out some caronas nd celicas.
  23. Hey guys, so i've got a problem with my accelorator on my 4k ke70 the throttle seems to stick if u press it down fast and it doesnt release for a while, the car had been sitting for about 9months so i thought it was just a bit seized. i've tryed a few things but can't narrow it down, i've sprayed crc on the pedal and the springs, that didnt work i had a look at the springs and the release mechanism but it looks fine to me, the only thing i can come to is that the throttle calbe is just old and worn out that its been stretched so it doesnt come back in all the way, something like that anyway. if anyone has had this problem in the past please let me know or what i can do to fix it. Cheers.
  24. Haha yeah I'm just not sure yet i like how low it sits but maybe 5cm higher should sit nicely, but I'm thinking when i lower the front it will even out and I'm predicting about a 5cm increase in height in the rear once the front is lowerd. I'm pretty sure my 14's should clear it anyway. i've still got the stock old springs here if i have to put them back in or cut them to make it sit higher! Cheers. (big thanks to justin for helping me set this boss kit up right god they can be bugger of a thin sometimes!)
