  1. thanks mate! feels good to drive it on the road finally. just got back from a lil drive then, god i missed all those rattles and shakes, just means there is something else to tinker with! new stezza, radiator and polished thermostat housing are next on the list tomorrow. really need to get some updated pics too, ill just go crazy with the camera tomorrow :laff:
  2. for sure mate. its going to need a bit of work, has been neglected a fair bit. will let you know soon as i find out what i am going to need
  3. nah mate last i saw it was that steele bluey colour that the kingswoods came out in. if i can find a pic at the olds ill try and get it up
  4. ok guys and gals look out! the coupe is on the road. not exactly before christmas but pretty close. still have to clean up the primer from the rust repairs, and a minor overheating problem, and it should be all good. can hopefully start the stereo install tomorrow if i get time....and if it isnt bloody raining! very keen to polish it up and take some pics so i will be on a mission tomorrow!
  5. hey guys, i saw the topic that wan.7 started about one of his formerly owned KE25's, so i thought i would start one. it wasnt my car, it was actually my uncles car, but it was an absolute beast. it had an early kingswood wagon body on a willy jeep chassis, so it looked like a monster truck. it also had a v8 diesel under the bonnet, and last i heard he sold it up near blackwater somewhere. i know its abit of a long shot, but would just love to see it again. cheers brendan
  6. well matt reckons i don't need the lifters cause it already revs its tits off! he is supposed to be getting his KE10 this week, so when he decides to get his cam he will order mine as well i suppose. he also has a re-kitted weber with a new air filter and adaptor plate for me for 200, which i thought was a bargain.
  7. dude i would buy a hyundai before i bought a commodore. although hyundai's are pretty under rated
  8. well i reckon it would be a good deal then because thats about how much he was going to charge me for the billet one!
  9. well the only thing there is i don't think there is anyone around here that does that kind of thing. plus the fact that he was already going to get one for his KE10, so he was going to do a deal for me. plus I'm more than happy to help support his business as he has helped me out alot with the coupe
  10. hey there rolla fans. i had mentioned to my mechanic matt about getting a new cam for the corolla and see how it goes. and he said he can get a billet cam for me fairly cheap. are they a worthy buy? i havent had a lot to do with cams, so this is all kinda new to me. also how much would other places expect you to pay for one? cheers brendan
  11. your telling me crowie! the missus bought me a full stereo for me for chrissy, and its gona be no good if the car is stationary! there will be plenty of empty red bull cans laying around after this week
  12. guys who did the roadworthy forgot to mention that the rust on the sill under the left hand door was part of the fail :bash: so it needs to be plated. me and (I'm not going to call him my local mechanic anymore, his name is matt) matt are going to get that sorted on monday night, so we can get it back to the roadworthy guy, and hopefully down to queensland transport by the end of the week! a bottle of rum to fix the two rust spots is pretty cheap by my standards!
  13. not the stunt jumper! to this day i have not seen a jump that can compete with the awesomeness! it still has good wheels on it yoda!
  14. minor set back guys, they didnt pass it due to a patch of rust under the fuel cap. so need to get it fixed before i can try again, which wont be till next week. might have more to update this arvy. also does anyone have any experience with billet camshafts?
  15. wow a lot of feedback there! i have also had the 'why bother' comment a few times, tends to just bounce off now. my bro in laws ke20 used to get looks everywhere it went, it was a real cruiser. also another thing: has anyone ever had to give a bit to any other corolla owners? i have seen plenty that need a kick in the ass for mistreating their cars.
  16. nah no chevy badge needed mate, all you need is a toyota badge, a rollaclub sticker, and a rolla nut behind the wheel= epic win
  17. hmm maybe they think we are trying to take over the world.....corolla style?
  18. yeah i know how you feel. if i never see another pressure pack respray milo tin cannon exhaust commodore with a stereo worth more than the car itself it would be too soon.
  19. well i will find out how it went tomorrow. the mechanic i deal with organised it all for me, including transport, so I'm not too worried. if i get the green light i would love to get it registered next week. does anyone know when and if queensland transport go on holidays?
  20. true that. i never really let it bothered me much. my first car was a 1983 mazda 929 (i know not a rolla) but i regret getting rid of it every day since. this is my first corolla, and I'm planning on keeping it for a while. all i have to do is help my bro in law get his KE20 on the road!
  21. hey guys, i don't know whether I'm the only one or not, but has anyone else been given shit about owning a corolla? mainly the older models though, as i have found. people probably wonder why we don't just sell up and buy a newer car (or a commodore as some say). i own a 97 subaru impreza atm, and its a great car and all, but i appreciate the little things more now. i had forgotten how much fun these little cars are, and so much easier to maintain than modern cars. so i was just wondering if anyone else has or is in the same boat as i currently am? cheers brendan
  22. also i don't know whether its a shortage of early corollas around here, or they are becoming more popular, but since my car has been up at the garage i have had 2 offers on it! if they are really keen ill just put them onto my bro who bought my other one
  23. ok...well has been a pretty rough time since last post. have been shit crazy with work and family, especially with chrissy coming up. but, by the looks of things it could be on the road as soon as next week! i have been taking time every now and then and doing bits and pieces in my spare time, but she looks to be ready! its not exactly how i want it, but as for being a daily driver, its good enough for me. its heading down for a roadworthy tomorrow morning, so if i get a chance tomorrow arvo, i will be taking some decent pics. will try to keep you all posted.
  24. well the coupe is just about ready to get out on the road, so i think the wasp is going to be the next project. my local mechanic that works on my cars including the coupe, is fairly interested in the belletts at the moment, so i think he may be keen to give me a hand with what i can't do.
  25. either that or off some of the earlier 4 stud rwd bmw's. a mate of mine had 15's just like that on his gemini from a bmw
