nah thats it really, its just a muck around kinda day. i think they have stuff for kids as well, while the boys do their thing on the blacktop. i will double check though, just to be sure
-
well pretty much anything you can ride or drive is welcome as far as i know. I'm looking forward to seeing my mates v8 galant have a run =) plus i get to take the coupe for a spin as well

hey there rolla fans! sorry its abit late notice, but i found out the other day that the warwick drag racing association is holding a test and tune day on the 11th of december. as far as i know entry is about $30, and the gates open at 10am. if any of you guys are interested here is the website for more details http://www.warwickdragway.com/

just my 2 bobs, but i think what everyone else is saying is right. 10's on the rear is overkill for 120 atw, in my honest opinion run 8's all round and just get some fatter tyres for the rear, give it the 'bagging' up look =)

yet another update. got some new hardware for the beast. picked up new NGK spark plugs, ignition leads, new points and condenser/distributor, and a few other bits and pieces. will be putting that stuff in over the weekend along with the shocks from the roller coupe. gona be some progress this weekend!
-
i am considering it, mainly because i need the coupe on the road. i guess we will see how we go

thats true. the bloke that was asking about it has fully restored his one, but is looking for another one. the fact that it is a styleside makes it even more rare as well. he is pretty keen on it though, because the day he came to see me he wanted me to take him round to my place to see it there and then.

hey guys. as some of you know i picked up a 1965 isuzu wasp a few months back. well technically i saved it from being put to pasture. i had posted it up on the isuzu bellett forum not long after i got it. and last week a bloke rocked up at my work wanting to know if i wanted to sell it. now i wasnt really planning on selling it, unless i knew it was for the right price. are there any enthusiasts out there that could shed some light on this situation, as the wasp is not listed in any of the valuation websites. this is the forum where it is posted. http://www.bellett.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=965

ok guys engine is flushed, radiator is flushed, all new oil water and coolant in. starts as soon as you hit the key, which i was pretty excited about! got my mate coming round next week, we are just doing a complete suspension swap from the shell to this one. also he said he could build a strut brace for me, and some sort of setup on the rear to stop axle tramp? hes an old school bud so he is going to do it all cheap for me. and one thing i was very keen on: a short throw shifter, which he is going to make up for a carton of ted's =) its gone from zero to full blast in the last week! fingers crossed it will be on the road soon!

if you werent so far away mate i could have helped ya there mate. i have two pairs of doors with good chrome handles on them!

hahaha /\/\/\/\/\ just noticed my dog giving me a death stare =)

yeah mate pretty much stock. all i have done is cleaned the head, reseated the valves and put the vrs kit in. i tell you what though for the small amount of work we have put into the motor it runs awesome. i zipped down the road a bit this arvy once we had bolted everything on, and unfortunately the shocks arent exactly great. put it bluntly its a motorboat at the moment, so they are going to need replacing. lucky for me my bro hasnt picked up his shell yet! so i will swap the good ones out of it before he finally comes round, and ill just put mine in his for the time being. i only had time to take one pic this arvy, and because the camera was already full. still havent degreased the bay yet, but you will see what i mean about the tappet cover. as well as that we are doing the ignition coil, thermostat housing, fuel pump, and possibly the brake booster. but heres one to keep you up to date.

=) have been working on it for the last few nights with a mate of mine, finally got it started for the first time lastnight since i bought it! i think the hard work is finally paying off, hasnt missed a beat yet. still have to flush radiator and oil again, which we are doing tonight. my mate took a tappet cover and thermostat housing on sunday and said he was going to sandblast them for me. i thought it would have just looked like clean alloy, but no, he brought it back almost mirror finish! so by the looks of it we are blinging a few more bits up, so will look a bit more flash that what i had originally thought. i will take some pics as soon as I'm off the comp and upload them tonight if you guys are interested? i feel so much more motivated now that i have heard it running....going to be a long night!

my mechanic reckons that 3, 4 and 5k motors all weigh in at an average of about 75 kg
-
true that! well i will get the camera out next chance i get, still looks pretty average though, covered in dust and the engine bay needs a good degrease. trick question though, does anyone have any experience with holley carby's? cause the mechanic that i get all my gear from is getting into historic racing, and he picked up a rusty old KE10 as a parts car, and there was a holley carby sitting in the passenger seat that he isnt going to use. can anyone shed any light for me?

time for an update i guess! head is back on, air injection holes are blocked, had to source a new heater hose plate for the back of the head, as the original....well lets say the rust was holding the metal together. only things to do now is service it and flush the shit out of the radiator and hoses. hopefully can have it on the road before the end of the year. will be ordering new tyres for it soon, i was going to go 175/70R13 for the front, and 205/60R13 for the back. what do you guys reckon?
-
don't forget the DX taxi he rides in when he first gets to tokyo!
-
hey guys not alot to update. the head is shaved and seal kitted ready to go back on, but the only issue is this: the head is slightly different. just above the exhaust manifold there are four diagonal holes with thread in them, i am guessing they are for some sort of emission control? just wondering will this affect the roadworthy if i just blocked them up? i will take some pictures and upload them when i can, because i don't want to bolt it on until i know it will pass roadworthy, and because i don't think i have the emission control gear for this head. any help would be great.

I started a thread about cheap superlites not too long ago. But I only found out not long ago that they were a replica. The 13x7's were about 120 each, but about 500 grams heavier than the genuine ones, which I asked the performance rep about. They are going for about 165 for the same size. But then again superlites aren't for everyone
-
yeah the pockets would come in handy, but i wont lose any sleep over not having any. head is done now! spent all afternoon buffing all the shit build up off, re-seated the valves, new stem seals, and new gaskets. dark as f**k now so wont be able to put it on until i get a chance =( got a $100 voucher for repco, so next chance i get I'm gona go on a spree and see what i can get.
-
not much to update as of yet guys. waiting for the weekend so i can pick up my centerline look alike wheels, finish the head and put the vrs kit in. just looking at the supercheap catalogue atm, those chrome air filter assembly's that bolt straight onto the carb, are they any good? just thinking of tidying up the engine bay abit. but I'm assuming i would need to get those oil breather filters for the hoses that attach to the factory air filter case?
-
Well I will keep you all updated as often as possible. Once the head is done all that's left that I know of for roady is tyres which I can get cheap enough. Any good suggestions for seat covers? As they don't have removable head rests, need to find single piece covers?
-
:lolcry: thanks taz! thought it would be better suited in this forum
-
well will have to use one of the old heads from under the house.....nice little crack between cylinders 2 and 3. oh well found the problem at least! also could mods please move this thread to the my rides section?
-
got the head off the other night, definitely was the head gasket. ass end was blown out and there's a high spot between cylinder 2 and 3. not only that cylinder 4 4 (back cylinder, not sure if they work from front to back?) had about an inch and a half of water sloshing around in it, so is going to need a good clean before the heads back on. i was surprised how well it actually ran considering how much water was in it.
