it looks unreal with a good low profile tyre on the car too, and come in a few different colours too. the only thing I'm not sure about is the whole 4-5 stud problem, seeing as they are a 5 spoke. i have seen both of these wheels in person, and they look tough as.
-
not sure if you can get these to your specs, but as far as dish and bit of chrome go, these get the drool effect.

speaking of rust, the 82 is basically rust free from what i have seen, small bits of surface rust but thats about it. the wagon on the other hand might need a new back door, but have not had a really decent look at either yet, really need to have a good inspection. i have never been a fan of fwd's anyway, but i guess its up to him. i know which one i would be choosing. only reason i want him to get the twinky is so he can flog it round till he doesnt want it....bam i have a new motor for my coupe!

that is sweet as mate! let me be the first to say....that is an effing big intercooler! no problems with cooling i am guessing.

hey guys my bro is looking to buy his first car. i reckon he should go with an older model toyota, and as it so happens there are two that stand out and are in his price range at the moment. first one is an ae82 twin cam hatch in pretty good nick no rego or roady for 800, or there is a corona wagon, unsure of year, but it is a 2.4 litre super responsive, if that makes any sense? it is going for 500 no rego or roady. i just want to know if there is anything i should look out for, and which would be better value. any help would be great guys.

living in a country bumpkin town, alot of the young wannabe B n S utes around here have polished checkerplate with LED strips like this \\\\ooo.ooo//// looks weird but they think its cool. not that different to the lights you see occasionally on the old nissan exa's and N12 pulsars.

hey guys car is still up for sale, just put another 6 months rego on it. also had dint fixed and had boot debadged and resprayed. is now fitted with a pair of chrome tail lights as well. roadworthy will be supplied before car is sold.

i might be able to make a few calls for ya. my mate that works for mal wood automotive is a whizz at stuff like that. i will see what i can dig up -
i agree with blzbub mate check the cable at the diff end and make sure it isnt stretched or not tensioning up properly.
-
ah well, it was worth a shot. thought they might be think enough.

are you planning on making the rollcage or buying a pre-made one? if you are planning on making one, i reckon the best thing to use is just your standard steel exhaust piping. easy to cut, bend and weld, but is pretty strong. at the tyre shop i used to work at, we used to mandrel bend exhausts, and they are pretty darn strong. and i think you can get 3m lengths for about 100 bucks? depending on who you get it from. and also, i reckon bolting not welding it in. that way if you do have any problems in the future, you don't have to butcher it to make any more modifications.

yeah they are a father and son team business. alot of people don't know about it, but warwick's morgan ark raceway is big on sprint cars and race bikes. i would guess thats where they get alot of their work from too. and the blokes that run morgan park are actually extending the drag strip and race track....someone mentioned something about getting the V8 supercars out there or something. not 100 percent sure if thats right, but would be pretty cool. and i noticed someone said something about reliability of these built motors? will have to ask when i get down there!
-
have you replaced the spark plugs or points recently? or do you run electronic ignition? i know i used to have the same kinda problem if one was working better than the other.
-
yeah well i will try and get down there soon. i know that the main thing they said they were getting most of their power is from a good port and polish. john said he had spent a few hours everyday for nearly 2 weeks porting that head, so they are pretty thorough.
-
i guess it all comes down to the rules of the class you want to compete in? as long as you build to the specifications you should be ok
-
well felix it sounds like you got yourself a good deal there mate! i am going to go down and talk to the blokes at mr performance sometime this week since I'm on hols, would really like to have a look at this 180+ hp monster, and to get a build list. would you guys be interested in pics at all?
-
not sure if they would be a close resemblance or not, but try chrome RX3 tail lights? jst a thought

i actually rang john from mr today and asked him abit more about the motor, its actually a 5k with a 3k head. it is actually in the shop for more work believe it or not! he is hopeful to get close to 195 atw.....which i think is bloody unreal. i also asked him about the price of all this work.....aahhh and it would cost about 8 g's.......a little bit more than what i would want to spend. but the bloke that owns that engine holds the record for fastest lap time in its class at morgan park raceway. and john also said that this thing blows twin cam 1800cc motors away.
-
as for the guys that did the engine work, the company is called MR Performance from warwick, if you want to look them up this is their website http://www.mrperformance.com.au/photos.htm
-
yeah i never thought that you could ever make that kind of power with a 4k. i was actually thinking of going and getting a full build list from the bloke that built it. i know he has put alot of wirk into it. a few of the things he mentioned was a full port and polish and titanium valves. wouldnt mind getting a quote to see how much it would actually cost to make this monster.
-
hey guys, was down at the local performance shop today. thought i might ask about mods for the trusty ol' 4k while i was there. lo and behold he had one in the shop at the time. the bloke that owns it runs it in his clubman racecar. so i asked him what kind of figures it was putting out, and believe it or not it is puttin out 160 hp normally aspirated! i had never heard of a n/a 4k with this high output before. might sound stupid but i thought you rolla nuts out there might want to hear about it

wonder how you would go fiting an EJ20 into a corona?
