Good unmolested AE 86's are hens teeth to find now, try looking for a good AE 71 or even a KE 70 Corolla. Still can take the 4AGE/ZE conversion. Much easier to find a good " grandpa " car for less than $2500. An AE 86 for $2500 would need $5000 spent on paint and rust repairs before you even start the mechanical modifications. It took me 7 months to find a good AE 86 and that was 8 years ago. Then spent $4000 importing a twin cam AE 86 from Japan and doing a full conversion on my Ausy car. Sold it to a guy in Melbourne some 3 years ago, havn't heard from him since. :D
