It gives the pads a bit more to grip onto and also helps get rid of the heat in the rotors when heavily worked, similar to cross drilling.

I just gave him the discs and he slotted them, cost about $150. He did the same on my KE18 wagon.

I found those wheels in the boot of a KE 10 that came out of a swamp. I had to get them sand blasted, painted, machined and new inserts put in them. They are a german made wheel, the name on them in Ronal.
-
No more transverse leaf spring, the bottom of the strut leg is still the KE17 item but with threaded tube welded on. The strut inserts are AE 92 i think with a modified top bearing plate. Also repositioned lower control arm pick up point to give more caster and neg camber.

Original KE17 Discs, same as KE20. I just took them off the car and had them slotted.

Some pics of my 69 SL Sprinter which i've had for nearly 10 years. I used to supersprint it when i first got it, now preparing it for Speed on Tweed. Just finished Koni Adjustable front suspension & slotted front rotors. I'll post pics of new 7k after install. Oh What A Feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Try Celica TA 22, they look factory! :)

Just reset the rear springs, if you wan't to stiffen it up replace the shocks. front coils should cost about $110-$140, Pedders or King Springs. Stick to using a K series motor its much easier. You can get good hp even out of a 4k 1300, my KE 70 kahanacross car has 75bhp at the wheels. Running a 4K won't cause any legal issues. Keep it simple and legal, you don't need hassels from the police, also you don't wan't to have to engineer the car.

Not unless a a divorce is on the cards, if i sell it i'll end up living in the shed!

Good luck with your new project, all it needs now is a pair of fender mirrors some dress rims and hub caps and she's ready to cruuuzze!!! :jealous:

Bought my first KE10 about 12 years ago and had about 20-30 of them since. Still have about 8 of the old girls left a couple of KE17 SL Sprinters, KE 18 Wagon and some KE 10 & 11's and well as the 4 Door KE 11. And yes they are stored all over the place!

This used to be my wife's everyday car up until about 7 years ago, she got a company car. Was left under a carport at my parents place. It just needed a battery, fuel and a new fuel pump and off she went. The brakes are partially seized and there's a bit more rust now. Its only done about 92,000 miles, except for the drivers seat most of the interior is good. Planning on tidying her up a bit, overhaul the brakes and sticking it on Historic Registration. She used to fly with the twin SU's, heaps better than the original factory twin carbs.

I live in the Blue Mountains, most of the kahanacross action happens at Colo, Oran Park, Ansel Park and Awaba on the Central Coast of NSW.

Thanks James Replaced windscreen last week, looking for a powder blue door, save having to do any paintwork. Most parts on the car race seat, harness, shocks, springs, brake pads & guages all supplied by eBay!.

Some pics of my KE 70 kahanacross car powered by a JTS built 4K recently on the dyno produced 75bhp at the wheels. Damage to door and screen after hitting a tree at Colo earlier this year.

Gavclassic replied to Gavclassic's topic in Automotive Discussion
Don't have to pre-enter. If you get there between 11-12 you'll be right. Worse case the show will just spill out onto the street. Its a dead end quiet street in an industrial estate should be no real dramas. :P See You All There !!! -
2006 All Toyota Day This years event will once again be hosted by Al Palmer at his workshop in Penrith on Saturday 4th March. All Toyota's welcome, old, new, standard & modified.
