  1. Its so much easier than using a rag and some degreaser hahaha. ;)
  2. Yea i have heard about the dangers of loose stuff in side cars your every day item could become a weapon in a crash thats why they are nicely strapped in hahah. ;) and the boxes also fit nicely in the rear foot wells when the rear seats are folded flat very convenient. :D
  3. Hey mate honestly u don't even need a steam cleaner just get the strongest degreaser u can, grease blaster has worked the best for me and just take your car to one of the self serve car washes spray the shit out of the greasy areas with the degreaser and let it sit for a few minutes, then just blast the shit out of it with the high pressure gun just make shure you cover up the top of your carby and keep away from the distributor and you will be okay. you may need to repeat the process a few times to get the engrain grease build up of,f but you will get there took me three goes on the wagon to finally get it all off.
  4. Cheers mate just gradually stripping parts down and cleaning them when i have time, getting it ready for the 4AGE, shows what a bit of time and a steam cleaner can really do hahah. ;) This was my old ke70 engine bay when i bought it. This is it after i was done with it :D but then a chap had to crash in to it and write it off a week later. =)
  5. Here are some pics of the new improved interior, clean dirt free 4AC and Stezza system :D This is it at its currant status, next i am going to get the two rear SSR's re rolled and, get the lips redone then get all four powder coated in some sort of redicilous colour and get some brand new rubber for the back. ;)
  6. Cheers for the info mate will go invest in a new one soon :D
  7. Next addition, out with the cassette deck and in with the Alpine Stuff, just basic head unit with CD, USB, AUX, MP3, MP4 and MWA. I also bought 2 alpine type S 4x4 speakers for the front kick panels and two alpine type S 6x9 for the rear. Fitting the rear ones was going to be different as there is virtually no where to put them, i opted for the easiest and probably the best option and bought two 6x9 speaker boxes, this would give me the clearest sound and the flexibility of being able to move them around in and out of the car for when we go camping and shiz. The speaker boxes curantly sit on the rear seats seat belted up so they wont go anywhere. :D will post pics up soon.
  8. Finally got my new speedo drive in form toyota Japan banged that in and yay finnaly have a working speedo. :D decided to check all my brakes the other day as well the fronts are good with plenty of brake pad left, on the other hand the back drum shoes were rooted they were paper thin, so got some new ones and after a bit of playing around and adjusting i have new rear brakes. :( Wheel Time!!!! managed to fork out some cash and finally get rid of these ugly stockies and get some SSR Reverse mesh 15x7 with 0 offset. The grip this thing has now with the semi slicks on the front is redicilous now and I'm loving every single bit of it :hmm: now i can beat the shit out of my mates Stagea through the hills hahah. Much better. :P
  9. Was driving along through the hills the other night and 1 in every time i pushed the clutch in the pedal would feel really soft and spongey, i thought this could just be because of the old fluid in there, so the next day i had a suss and every thing looked good there were no leaks any where so i bleed the clutch system but still no difference, i emptied the clutch resivour and down the bottom of it was a heap of small rubber/plasticky pieces so my guess was the clutch master is f@$ked haha. I ducked in to my mates house and pinched his ae86 clutch master which he had sitting there, for when he gets of hiss ass and does his conversion, whacked that in bleed it re set the pedal and bingo stiff as f@$k. whilst i was in the bleeding of shit mood i also bled all my brake system and cleaned out the brake fluid resivour. :D
  10. Since i have had the car mechanically i just about can't fault it, which i am really happy about, i took the rocker cover off the other day for closer inspection and the inside of the rocker cover and all the cam and everything is clean as a new not even the slightest bit of residue any where, so i think it might have had a head re build not to long ago. the engine runs super smooth doesn't miss a beat or over heat at all the radiator looks fairly new as well think it has been changed not to long ago. i changed all the oils and fluids, block flush, engine oil, oil filter, spark plugs, new rad cap, new thermostat, bottle of no smoke  , gear box oil, and diff oil. Like new also spaced the tappets while i was at it purr's now :D The piston rings in the Mighty 4A have seen better days, it chews cust bout as much oil as petrol :hmm: haha all the more insentive for the 4AGE, but besides that its fault less and i am very happy with it. :(
  11. Hey lads think its bout time i made one of these, this is my 1984 Ae71 CS 5 speed Manual Wagon. bought it bout 2 months ago of Big BBQ. i plan to just have it as a good daily, something that will turn some heads be comfortable to drive daily, have a decent working sound system, but also be a good little weekend hills warrior. So let the wagon work's begin. Specs: 4ac goodness, sloppy T50 box, cut front springs, custom stiffer lowered and reset leaf springs and, short stroke shocks in the back, SSR mesh 15x7+0 all round with f@$ked tyre's on the back and Advan neova semi slicks on the front. Handling/suspension: Cut front springs. custom stiffer lowered and reset leaf springs. short stroke shocks in the back. Kelway strut brace up front. Engine/gearbox: new filter in the dinner plate. new muffler box. i think re built head. sloppy T50 needs a rebuild kit badly haha. Interior: Toyota Paseo front seats. golf ball shifter. Wheels/tyres SSR speed star mesh 15x7 with 0 offset all round. Advan Neova semi slicks up front. One maxxis and one bridgestone grid 2 on back. Body: needs some work bit of rust in usual places, under rear vents, bottom of rear wheel arches and a bit of surface rust on the inside of the tale gate and a fair few dings and dents but all can be fixed :hmm: Plans: first start of with minor bits and pieces, get interior clean and replace worn/broken parts, good clean and good service. once it is clean and presentable get decent wheels all round make it look tuff as f@$k then lastly find a 4AGE 16v give it a full rebuild put Quad throttle bodies on it and put it in once i have built it up and am happy with it. :( Pics: the day i bought it stockies  Current Status we be Ballin!!! :D
