  1. Thanks mate. Yeh I'm in MK and should be taking up and F1 apprenticeship in a few years if I am lucky. :) I have since received a reply from irokin and we have discussed it. Seems that the costs will be too great for such a humble owners club. :( Oh well. Thanks for the help mate. I would stick around here more often if the time zones suited, and if I didn't have to participate in so many other forums.. lol Cheers, KP
  2. Hi all, I was hoping to become a rollaclub sponsor but the links in the Sponsor forum don't work and I haven't received a reply from the Admin I PM'd. Who can I talk to about this? Thank you, KP
  3. A clean looking car mate. I'm not a fan of the steering wheel, too garish for my liking but your ride. 20v will be nice to see, get it with some tb's and cams, you'll be laughing. Just please don't get a horrible exhaust! :bash: KP
  4. Anything is possible if you have the time, tools, money and people around you to help. Many people would not attempt it, but at least you can say that you did! You can either win or learn.
  5. Yes that is normal, mine looked like this after I did that; As said, just repack them and slide the boot back on, making sure that it is secure.
  6. I spent a night going through that page, and loved learning all I could about the 4A-GE. All the bits of info that are useful to know, pure porn in the form of writing! |blink|
  7. A few more bits done today: Any comments or question are welcome, I have done a lot to this car that I do not post here, but this is my build thread over at Toyota Owners Club UK: My Build Thread
  8. Hi all, Because I am moving house, the motor has to go back together simply for transportation. Here are some pictures; I am struggling to remove the snap rings that hold on the CV Tripod though, does anyone know what I can do to get it off to replace the gaiter? Thanks KPeanuts
  9. Hi, I don't post here often at all but I decided to update this thread with a few pics of what I have done since my last visit. 1. I got my competition Clutch fitted: 2. I painted loads of engine parts: Engine; Gearbox and Parts on it; (On the gearbox I polished the water junction/thermostat housing. I painted the gear-box mount, water pipes and drive shafts protective plate in red. I also replaced the standard clips with chrome jubilee clips.) Water Pump Pulley; Polished Water-Pump; Polished Oil Dipstick Guide; Painted Starter Motor Cover-Plate; Polished Water Pipes; Fitted Air-Filter; I have also painted various other pieces; Chromed Hoses; I have taken delivery of two second hand replacement doors for £100 and some new roof lining for £20. I will be getting a Head Set, TRD 0.8mm Head Gasket to raise the compression ratio, BMC Exhaust Fitting kit, Jap oil and fuel filters and NGK Iridium sparkies! I will put it back together myself the weekend before I go back to school. :P Christmas should also bring new smoked Headlamps and Sidelights, aswell as a Cusco Rear Strut-Brace. Here's my TOC Build Thread: http://toyotaownersclub.com/forums/index.p...t=0&start=0 It's also in the registry where all of my mods are listed. Thanks for comments and reading. KP
  10. Damn thing posted before I'd finished!
  11. The old one had to be torn off and the bolts cut off. I have sprayed the exhaust manifold in high temp paint and will be heat wrapping it instead. Thanks for the help.
  12. I have used red VHT paint on the covers and even though its matte, it has metal flakes in it which makes it sparkle which is awsome!
  13. Nice! What paint was it though i.e. manufacturer? Also, MYSTIK, where do you get heat-shields for the exhaust? Mine is totally ruined!
  14. I got the cam covers off now and I'm spraying them red. I know that everyone does that but it looks great. I'll paint the 'Twin Cam' in black and the other bits in silver/white. I don't know where to get gloss engine paint though. All the high-temp stuff is matted really badly. No shine at all.
  15. Thanks for all the help. I'll be getting prices when I find the time. I haven't had any time to work on the engine so far  I'll get a complete price for all the things that I'll need to put the engine back together. You guys have been so much more helpful then some TOC members are, I'm glad I found this site!
  16. Ok cool. I'll see what Toyota can do for me then. They don't sound too expensive. It's just somone on the U.K. Toyota Owners Club, had to pay £80 for an engine oil dipstick!
  17. Cool. Toyota parts are stupidly expensive here though. I'll wait a while I think.
  18. Ok thanks a lot guys. I removed one rubber gasket, but because it was stuck down so hard, I thought that they werent to be removed. I'll have another bash at it tonight.
  19. Someone made a scale model of a Ferrari, even smaller than that! It had a working V12 replica combustion engine, with pedals and a mini 'box and everything. It was amazing.
  20. This is what some people do because you can only get to a certain power level with the small-port head, but the big-port can get to insnae levels of power N/A. I have seen some with 300BHP+ going N/A. I don't know where I saw it, but it can be done.
  21. Hello everyone, I've been trying to remove the cam covers, but they won't shift. I have removed the chrome acorn nuts and the 6 bolts that hold the centre of the cover but no luck. I have hit the covers firmly but not too hard with a soft hammer from pretty much every angle, followed by an attempt to lift them by hand which just led to my fingers being torn off and the car backing into the garage door. It looks as if sealant has been applied around the whole mating surface between the covers and the head, even though it should only be in four specific places. I have searched the forum for information on this but to no avail. Can anyone help me please? Thank you for the help, Kynan Parris-Jones
  22. No-way am I getting a body-kit for this! I was going to a while ago, but after my work-experiance, I realised how much work really does go into prepping and spraying them. And If I'm honest, I like the standard kit anyway. :sob:
  23. Hi all, I have a 1989 F reg AE92 GTi-16 with the tvis 4age. I'm 14 and the engine is coming out in a month for an overhaul that I'll be doing myself at home to get some of the horses back. Its done 81k miles and I have purchased a TRD 20% uprated Heavy-Duty Clutch, Ashley Exhaust System and a GREEN Power-Flow Twin Cone air-filter, which will all hopefully get me to 140BHP There is a lot of rust on the offside front arch and the nearside rear arch and on the struts inside the car, but I will be getting it sorted soon and will then have it resprayed in white. I have already replaced the tailgate with a smoothed over tailgate and I have soldered the cut wires and insulated them. I have also purchased a few exterior mods such as crystal clear side-repeaters and I will be getting new headlamp, sidelights and clear tail-lights. (Not lexus! I don't want ot to look chavvy!) I will later be getting new ROTA rims in bronze too. The strut brace has been sprayed red by me too. Mechanical-wise, I'll be fitting new late-spec Black Diamond discs front and back, with a brake line kit and restored calipers all round. The interior has a flip-up DVD player, MOMO Gear-Knob, Steering Wheel, Hand-Brake and Pedals. I have sprayed parts of the centre black instead of the old blue-grey and have fitted 2 Alpine 180W speakers. I reconditioned the carpet so it's nice and fluffy again and will be purchasing SPARCO floor mats soon. There are MOMO shoulder-pads at the front and TRD pads at the back for comfort. I removed the sound-proofing all round so that the exhaust would sound louder with the engine and the car would be lighter.
  24. I love your rolla! I want a 4agze, but wont be able to afford the insurance....
