so i guess no help? I'm guessing a comp issue so ill check that eventually. I'm goin on holidays for 2 months so i will deal with it when i get back.

hey guys, AE82 SOHC carbie. 4A-C i just took it for a run around the track today (it was the last one, I'm goin on holidays for 8 weeks on wednesday so i figured why not) previous to racing it, i changed the oil and filter, checked all the plugs (didnt replace em tho) and just basically checked it over mechanically. after doing a few laps (4 or 5) it started heating up (stock standard, u kind of have to expect that) so i pulled it in. popped the bonnet and let it cool down. i noticed some oil dripping from effectively underneath the brake booster (not coming from there though) it was dripping off the mudflap. I did overfill the oil a little bit so I'm hoping it could just be that. after that i took it out again. another 4 laps and then on my final one it seemed to just drop in power. no acceleration, and sounded a bit deeper. it doesnt seem to backfire though. i brought it in, let it cool again. i can't remember any particular point where it jerked or did anything strange i took it out one more time and only managed to get to 120kmhr down the straight. previous to that i managed 140kmhr down the straight on every lap. i still have plenty of oil (while it was hot) but it was very very thin. (liquid) will check it again when it cools down. any ideas as to what i did? Cheers, Tim

hey guys, sorry i havent replied for a while. luke, I'm gonna sell em with the car, so basically just need a set. when i asked for 16's i meant alloys :D lol. but 17's would be good if it ever came up. id gladly take them instead of the steelies! just put the alloy 14's back on the other rolla ;)

yeah. thats what i was thinking as well. ive been trying to find specs on them in regards to wheelbase. it doesnt change does it? but yes, the rear is longer. :) i was hoping to swap the exhausts cos my scrap rolla is a liftback and seems to have a bigger exhaust. my muffler's gone...

i bought two cars for less than that.... honestly, what is it with manufacturers charging a kidney for their parts. $5k for a clutch when an equivalent is only $400??

ah. cheers. i have a scrap liftback and it seems to have a slightly modified exhaust system :) (if not completely replaced)

a mate of mine has a brass button in his aw11 4agze mr2. he says its a bitch to use for normal driving. i've seen him take off out of carparks and stuff and its shocking in peak hour it would be absolute hell. being in darwin, we don't have peak hour.... brass button is great for performance, crap for comfortable driving. the heavy duty clutch would still give u at least some ease in driving :y: edit: if u get a brass button make sure its more than 5 puck...

ouch. bit expensive. it was just a thought i had after a cruise in a rather interesting ae82 :dance: any 4wd systems that would have the same wheelbase and track as a ae82 hatch?

just wondering how different the exhaust system would be on the liftback and the hatchback on an AE82 would i have to modify the exhaust at all? or just the end of it? (trim, bend, cut, watever) cheers, Tim

yeah man, it seems to be running alright. ive moved on to installing the aircon now :jamie: it has only done it twice... and that was after a bit of a thrashing, so i think its just a swelling vac hose somewhere....
