  11. alrighty. re: boostcruising i have a white AE82 liftback with a 4AGE in it. that could POTENTIALLY be my new car ZMIT is dead. i havent been fiddling around with it much lately, but before i went on holidays i spent a lot of time on it. it kicks over, but does not fire. much. before i left, we had fuel, we had spark (albeit potentially a weak one), we have compression, and timing seemed right. i also have a red AE92 liftback that has been T-boned (drivers side) the engine is reconditioned and has a 4AFC? or 4AF (basically crossflow 4AC) i am parting that out EXCEPT the engine - i don't know if i may need it :jamie: anybody keen on heading out to karama to have a look at it at about 5? (adam?)
  12. er.... the 4ac died.... kicks over, doesnt really start, checked all the usual. FACTS etc. just got back, so I'm gonna be spending this week working on it..... got any spare time?
  13. thanks for the replies. i was just wondering about the loom specifically, whether toyota (in their infinite wisdom) decided to put the whole 4age loom into all of the ae82s and just not use some of the connections with the 4ac (because i have a lot of connectors that go nowhere!) but the going consensus seems to be i will need to swap the loom over too. *sigh* i guess ill stick with the liftback
  14. thats ok, so is mine... :jamie:
  15. oooh. this sounds good. depending on the state of my car, i would gladly come along :jamie: by the way guys, i need to do various photoshoots of all of the rollaclub cars (to start with) so far.
  16. sorry to hijack your thread AE82 rolla. but i figured it wasnt worth making a new topic for it. I'm in a similar position. my 4A-C has just died in my ae82 hatchback, i have recently bought another ae82 with a 4AGE in it. unfortunately, it is a liftback. i have two options here, i can put the 4age and the disc brakes into the hatch, or simply use the liftback. i would just like a straight answer as to what is required to firstly change the engine over, and then change the brakes. of course, the hatch looks so much better than the liftback and i would rather use that, but only if its remotely feasible. so specifically, what are the differences in the loom? or are they the same any way? and would it be best to swap the gearbox over as well - just to be on the safe side? thanks
  17. of course....
