Jason Posted November 19, 2006 Report Posted November 19, 2006 why would you want a standard corolla rim on a car with bigger brakes any way Quote
foc64 Posted November 19, 2006 Author Report Posted November 19, 2006 I'm running 14" RT132 Corona steelies with 185/60 x 14" tyres. Not sure if this would work as is on KE30 struts but from what I've seen the struts look very similar to the T18 ones I have. The worst case would be you need a diffrent caliper mounting bracket (looking in to this). I haven't tried it but I've heasrd that you may be able to fit some 13" mags over this brake set up, not all but most!!. Chris Quote
red Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 a few years ago i had a ke70 and i used ra40 celica struts which had large ventilated dics just had to file the to holes on the bottom of the strut to fithad to have it w-alig aligment but it stopped three timesd as good that maybe somthing that may help you as well. Raven Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 (edited) RA40 doesnt have vented discs. RA40 has 254mm solid discs on the front. RA60 on the other hand as 258mm vented discs on the front. You wont get 13" wheels on either of those. And if you had used the steering knuckle from the RA40 celica, you wouldn't of had to file the holes down. Edited November 20, 2006 by Raven Quote
VHR32 Posted November 20, 2006 Report Posted November 20, 2006 I know a guy who fitted 254mm (10") vented discs and Volvo 4 spot calipers to his Datsun 1600 and had 13x6.5" 'jelly bean' style mags. Most 13" rims should fit. Quote
Trev Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Bumping this up as it seems to be a good bit of info and the only one I could find where I can retain the AE71 struts. I have silvia front brakes here but this sounds like a way to go. Quote
Jono.C Posted August 12, 2012 Report Posted August 12, 2012 Think I said before but ke70/ ae71 hubs, Silvia disks and rx7 calipers s5 from memory Quote
