Hello all readers

I have a question with regards to fuel economy.

Which scenario would use less fuel...

( Stock Ke70 Going up hill - Running 90% Bp Ultimate )

2nd Gear @ 4,000 Rpm - 50 kmh - Foot 2/3 to floor

OR

3rd Gear @ 2,600 Rpm - 50 Kmh - Foot to floor

?

Thanks...

i would say second gear. you've going to be putting the engine under less vacuum, so it's going to draw less air into the motor, hence less fuel. the engine is also about 10% more volumetrically efficient at 4000rpm than 2600rpm, so for the fuel you DO use it's going to make more power at ther higher of those two rpm than the lower

Ahh ok thanks !!!!

When ever i drive around town, I'm always popping it into a lower gear and making it rev around the 2 grand mark (or as low as i can do it with out making the car struggle )

Sweeet :)!

try driving around one way on a tank of fuel, note how many km you get and how many litres you put in to refill it, then try the other way and do the same

again this is where a vac gauge becomes useful
