How about hydraulic lifters for the 4k?

Still need someone to do a write up about using lifters from other motors etc.

 

I've now done a small write up on how we managed to convert to solids.....i can't remember any measurements though (i forgot to write them down). If someone has any spare 5K lifters lying around, just measure them and add them to the bottom of the paragraph.

Mate all you need to do is go to any speed shop ,ask for some holden solid lifters (they ARE all the same in holden red motors), then you WILL need to get some datsun A12 pushrods as XANY has mentioned in his FAQ and find some 3 or 4K adjustable rocker gear and get too it. It is simple.

 

What cam are you using.

Yeah man i still got them as spares and i have another set of A12 pushrods as they are becoming rare as to get because of the junior speedway guys using them :D

if anyone wants A12 pushrods i have about 5 - 6 sets of them out the back.....let me know.....make sure you know the length of pushrod you need first though

So you want too keep it as hydraulic tappets,not sure anyone has bothered to do that but you will just have too try.

If i am running a 5k Block and head, with toyota 3F (Toyota KM36RV-JR,Part No. 13751-61020) solid lifters, will the A12 pushrods be the go....depending on the post height of my 4k rocker gear?

 

If i put up a pic of my 4k rocker assembly, can someone tell me whether it's the tall or short version?, or can someone give me some measurements or a way to tell them apart, as I'm having difficulty finding 4k rocker assembly post height measurements on the net.

 

"I have some solid lifters that will suit your 5K block but you will need to change to a flat tappet cam from a hydraulic cam", This was said earlier in the thread, to change to a flat tappet from a hydraulic cam...how do i do this?, is it simply a process of when i take in my 5k cam for a regrind (Tighe 104), i tell him that i want it ground for a solid lifter instead of a hydraulic?
