Jason Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 Never though of this, but how do i prime the coolant system in the motor as its dry at the moment? Quote
flat out Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 just start the car up with the radiator cap off and let all the ai bubles come out and keep toping it up :) Quote
Trev Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 (edited) Make sure you open up the heater tap and make sure the temp reaches around the half way mark so the thermostat opens, If it has a thermo fan its easier as it will kick in when the thermostat opens. Trev Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 i think i found the block bleed srew... becuse coolent started pouring out of it... hmmmmm You can't bleed the block, It has to be the highest water point on the engine. Quote
irokin Posted January 17, 2007 Report Posted January 17, 2007 You can't bleed the block, It has to be the highest water point on the engine. Some engines actually have an air bleeder at the top of the system. Quote

I wasnt sayin you "can't" bleed the block i was saying you have to do it at the highest most possible point, The old 3k i had had the bleed valve on the thermostat housing. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 i think you found a temp sensor hole with no sensor in it :jamie: either that or a custom inspection hole hehe but yeah, just fill her up, most of the motor will fill as the rad sits higher than most of the engine, then start up and let warm up and keep topping coolant up.
