Medicine_Man Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Spin the axle on one side and the other should move at the same rate, Failing that pull it apart and have a look.. Quote
Des Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 Spin the axle on one side and the other should move at the same rate, Failing that pull it apart and have a look.. Yep what Justin said, Or whack it in and see if it cracks two or 1. When spinning one wheel if the opposing side spins the opposite direction its a single spinner. Quote
bullet79 Posted July 9, 2007 Author Report Posted July 9, 2007 (edited) ..yep that is the way.. but.. how to kno wheter its a T-283 or a T-285 diff..?? (4.3/4.1-final ratio + LSD).. Edited July 9, 2007 by bullet79 Quote
Des Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 It would have to be written on the housing somewhere or on the crown wheel or some other internal part ? Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 9, 2007 Report Posted July 9, 2007 have to count how many gears on the crown wheel 41 = 4.1:1 43 = 4.3:1 etc... Quote
bullet79 Posted July 13, 2007 Author Report Posted July 13, 2007 UH... its hard to tell when buying at import wreckers.. Quote

bullet79 Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 ... its not bout the LSD's.. but the final gear ratio.. Quote
Raven Posted July 14, 2007 Report Posted July 14, 2007 I can't remember exactly but it goes somethng like this. Either count how many rotations of the wheel it takes to get the pinion to make one complete turn or that could be pinion rotations to get the wheel to make one full turn. Mark it out with a chalk mark so you know when to stop and you kinda figure out which ratio it is that way. Quote
bullet79 Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 iv heard it somwhere before.. but will giv it a shot first.. (on my frens) Quote
