how do i know this ae86 diff/axle got an LSD in it..?? i know the T-283/285 code.. :yes: but where to look for the the numbers..?? wreckers.. u kno how the situation is.. just a yellow paint mark "AE86"..

 

i know LSD supposed to lock eachother, but the codes determind the LSD type+final drive ratio.. rite..??

Spin the axle on one side and the other should move at the same rate, Failing that pull it apart and have a look..

Yep what Justin said, Or whack it in and see if it cracks two or 1.

 

When spinning one wheel if the opposing side spins the opposite direction its a single spinner.

..yep that is the way.. but.. how to kno wheter its a T-283 or a T-285 diff..?? (4.3/4.1-final ratio + LSD)..

It would have to be written on the housing somewhere or on the crown wheel or some other internal part ?

I can't remember exactly but it goes somethng like this.

 

Either count how many rotations of the wheel it takes to get the pinion to make one complete turn or that could be pinion rotations to get the wheel to make one full turn.

 

Mark it out with a chalk mark so you know when to stop and you kinda figure out which ratio it is that way.
