Willis Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 There is a major difference between car enthusiasts and f**kwits. We're an hour behind Ill make sure I watch it. I'm gonna youtube it. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 http://au.news.yahoo.com/today-tonight/video/ Has a different ending but the story seems valid i'd probably call the cops if those wankers were doing that to my neighbourhood. Quote
Willis Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Different story but have a listen to these idiots. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5DCSLYIHq8&feature=related Quote
carbonboy Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 But what really majorly pee'd me no end, was at the end of the story. The reporter(you can't call her a journalist) that presented the story finished with "if you have any problem CAR ENTHUSIASTS? Don't hesitate to call 000". Are you serious, car enthusiasts give back to the community and go to the race track! Go do some journalistic research about our scene, or get another job!!! Thank you for the unwanted police attention! The email I have sent them is not as kind as this post, and I'll leave it at that!! End of rant. Damn straight! :y: Pm me a copy of this email ?, I want to see it Me too please? :D Quote

Sorry not that one i`ll dig it up. I personally hate it in residential areas. 15 years ago we'd go to incomplete industrial estates to do skids. Have grown up a fair bit since then though. I hate being labeled as a "hoon" because I have a modified classic car. As a community we give so much back in charity etc. My main gripe is it's never recognized in the mainstreem media!!! (reason for edit I stuffed up) Edited January 24, 2012 by kickn5k Quote
kickn5k Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 DES and Luke I'll send them through when I get home. I think it's worded quite well. Didn't want to come across like I was uneducated and drove a hectic falcadore. No swearing, personal insults or threats etc. Just basically an invite to show them what real car enthusiasts are about. Like a local hotrod meet that gives around 4k a month to the local children's ward and beyond blue. There is also the cruise for charity they do a great effort too(even though most of them are commo's). Stu. Quote
Willis Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 I've spun my wheels before. but I would hardly call it a skid. And I don't speed. Especially not in a residential area. I may own a relatively quick car but There's no reason to be a dick with it. Honestly, I've seen too many people i know die around here from (sorry guys) either doing stupid shit or just not having the ability to control a fast car. Now, I'm not saying that I can, because I probably can't. But that's why I don't do stupid stuff in my car. I've been to friends' funerals and I've seen what cars/trucks/bikes can do to people. I won't go into detail but it's not a very nice memory. I see no other reason to do this shit on a public road than having a genocidal death wish. having said all that, I totally agree with Stu. There is a major difference between an enthusiast and a hoon but I suppose the rest of the population don't see it. Quote
kickn5k Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 (edited) I have found the story I'm going to chuck it up here when my laptop works. And sorry for naming wrong show!! Some reason my dog managed to change channel on me when I wasn't looking(right on the edge of the shows blending them perfectly). She has a habit of doing it too. Few lucky I checked email and it WAS sent to the right channel atleast. http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/video/ you`ll find it under "revhead round up" now in this story they are pulling over modded cars but the officer is right "your fine if it`s engineered" Edited January 24, 2012 by kickn5k Quote
DZach23 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 wgmg. water damaged mobile phones that still work... but can't send sms's because the number keys now display symbols when pressed. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Did you drop it in the toilet? My mate has done that with about 5 phones. Quote
Willis Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 Mate dropped his phone in a servo toilet when he was pissed and fished it back out and jumped back in my car. I was dirty on it Quote
DZach23 Posted January 24, 2012 Report Posted January 24, 2012 not even that bad, i dropped it in a very shallow puddle (barely 1mm deep) about a month ago and everything was still working after that, then the other day i had it in my cup holders with a cold can of drink and the moisture on the side of the can must have got into the phone...
