Farken hell. Either my stupid host has "lost" all my files again, or someone has hacked my site again. This has happened TOO MANY BLOODY TIMES NOW, and personally at the moment I can't be bothered to try to get everything up and running again. For one thing, I've lost all the recent data, and for another it took a fair bit of work to get it set up the way I wanted it setup, and now it's ALL GONE.

 

I need to find a real host sometime. One with a proper DB. One that has proper security. One that has proper backup. None of this crappy home-job business.

 

But darn it, all that costs more money. And money's something I don't really have at the moment.

 

I guess fookstar.com is going to be defunct for awhile.

that sucks though.. gotta wonder what the use of hacking a personal site is?

Nitephyre: I usually do, hence I have a version of it still, but it's not a very recent version. I use a content management system, and I've done a bit of work on the site from work (after hours) so I was working on the hosting server. Also because it is a "blog" style site I enter everything directly onto the site, and not on my PC..

 

Obviously someone out there doesn't like me. This is the... 4th time I think, this has happened...

Grim: I'll think about it. Does it have a mySQL db? $80 a year is sounding a bit steep for me at the moment, I'll have to check properly what my finances are like, and what my options are.

mmm... which php extensions you got, what's allowed in .htaccess, what's the general server environment, and most importantly, is apache running with suexec?
