Is a ae92 tacho cluster plug and play, with a non tacho cluster?

it is in an Ae80 and AE82 - can't imagine the '92 being any different

i thought that some are plug and play (CSi/SR5 upgrade - source the cluster from an AE95 SR5 wagon its identical to the SX/GTi cluster but without the extra gauges, it doesn't look as tacky, if you compare the two you will see what i mean) but replacing your SE spec gauges with the SX/GTi setup is a royal pain in the ass. You need to strip, swap and add a far bit of wiring so I'm told

the tacho cluster in the lower spec ae92's are plug and play.

 

the sx/gti cluster arent because they have a different plug setup. yes the swap can be done but its a case of cutting and splicing to fit.

also with the sx/gti cluster you need the oil pressure switch just so the oil pressure gauge works :P
