howdy guys, gonna regas a twinky tomorrow, but i noticed the sticker under the bonnet has fallen off/gone missing. can anyone tell me how many grams are required for a regas?

 

also when the wipers are turned on the drivers wiper has way too much sweep, to the point that the drivers blade sweeps off the 'A' pillar. yet it parks in the proper spot and has no play in the linkages when the wipers are turned off. anyone know whats goin on with that?

Hey are you talking about the AC if so just get a kit that has a gauge already installed and keep it at 85% or where ever the green line tells you is adequate it is pretty easy to do....make sure you service it with proper gas or AC system will die on you......for the wipers just take it off the motor and see if the gears are broken or cross treaded or so and adjust so it will stop at desired point...I hope it works....out

thanks for the reply. the old ac machine at work doesnt have green lines etc. i just went off pressures. to get the pressures right it worked out to around 400g of gas.

 

as for the wipers, i havent had time to check, but I'm thinking linkages atm, as its like every 2nd/3rd sweep it will go too far on drivers side only, all other times its good.

Ok, With the AC.. THis may make a bit more sence.

 

Providing the system has been retrofited, with R134a Gas (Old gas, R12), and you have the correct machine to do the job, Find it should be a pretty straight foward step. You would already know how its illegal just to top up systems now days, being if its got a leak, you need to find out why, rectify it then fill it up. Find the Sight glass on the sytem, ontop of the reciever dryer i think on the Ae82's; Id start with 300 grams, hold it at 1500 for a few mins, and watch the sight glass. If heaps of bubble when in cycle, add in 20 gram does's untill there are no more bubbles. As long as the low side is between 1.5 to 2.5 Kgf/cm3 , and the high side between 14 to 16 kgf cm3 - then the system should be pretty cold, theoritially. Replaced the reciever dryer bag at all?
