Does anyone know of any workshops/people/cousins/brothers/etc who are good at working 4AGE engines? The only person I know who knows lots about 4AGE's is Anthony Kellam, but I don't know if he knows much about working them... Bill Sherwood seems to know a lot, but he's not really someone easy to get a hold of...

I'm just looking for direction as to where to go with my engine... (which probably won't go anywhere for awhile due to zero funds, but would be nice to know where I could go if I did have some funds!)

Well buzz engines have done alot of work with 4AGZE's... they may be able to help with the AGE....

All of it :doublebird:

No, my engine is currently stock apart from a pod and exhaust, and just kinda wondering what would be my best approach to getting more grunt from it on a minimal sort of budget...

ok, so what 4age do you have?

if your rebuilding, and got a 42mm crank u want to use late conrods, they are plenty strong, and lighter. some good cams and bit of head work and u should see 160 odd. if uv got a bigport head try and get a small port.

a TRD 0.5mm headgasket will help the compression.

skys them limit really!!

unfortunatly with n/a any increase means $$

I've got a small port 4AGE already. So yes, already have coated pistons with oil squirters etc, already have oil cooler etc (although it's really small). Haven't had any major cooling issues, so I guess it's probably good enough for now.

Stock computer won't run 280 degree cams, the max the stock computer is estimated to run is about 264 degrees or so, although I know someone running 267 degree Wade cams. He says the car really doesn't idle well at all though, and runs lean too, so he had to get an SAFC to get the fuel mixtures to work. I was thinking of these cams in the future, and if I do will probably get the Jaycar piggyback fuel computer (and a better AFR meter while I'm at it). Then again, with the narrow band lambda sensor I don't think it would be all that accurate anyway.

Is that a good direction to go to? Or should I say "bugger it" and just save up more and get some head work and bigger cams and aftermarket computer (haha, where was that money tree?) Maybe even quad throttles, hehehehehehehehehee... Yeah right. If I do decide to get some head work done, who should I send it to?

So many questions, it's all little dreams in my head at the moment, I doubt I'd get there anytime in the near (or distant) future but it's nice to dream...
