i was thinking the same kinda thing by making a false floor where the back seat is so it has more of a tray in the back. ill give it a shot.

Yes you need a mod plate as your changing the seating capacity. Must remove all seats and seat belts, Seeing as your boot will become the cabin as well this rules out surge tanks or any high pressure lines running in the boot.
