Hey guys new to the club!!! Have a KE70 with a 5K. I am putting a SC14 Super Charger on there. Has anybody ever tried this and succeeded with a blow through set up? 5K has blower cam, big port work, double valve springs, electronic dizzy, 40 thou over pistons and 350 holley. And info would be appreciated!!!

with a blow through setup, to do it PROPERLY, (just emphasising that cos I know someone will say something) you really need to get the carb o-ringed, so the boost wont blow leaks in your flimsy gaskets.

I'd keep an eye out on here, occasionally brackets for these come up for sale, or make your own.

I'd also put an electric fuel pump on it, to ensure proper fuel supply.

Some will say overkill, I prefer peace of mind, doing it right the first time etc etc

well to start off with you wont have to put electric fuel pump on it because mechanical fuel pump has the same pressure and elec fuel pump and you wont be able to run a fuel pump for an injection system because the pressure is way 2 high your fuel pump will run around 3 psi to 6 psi and so does a elec fuel pump due to the set up (needle and seat and various other internal parts where as efi fuel pump runs 30-60psi wich your carby will just over fill the bowl because to much pressure for needle and seat and will fill bowl up and over flow will just piss out so don't change fuel pump just hook it up a 350 holly will handle it fine i would probly make an expansion chaimber just about carby but yeah if you need any help just ring a place that deals with carbys get a professional view not a novice.

No worries you are obviously a professional, as your great command of the english language indicates.

 

An electric pump is far more efficient, as it pushes the fuel rather than pulling it, and will pump up to 7 psi, which is enough required for a Holley/ supercharger setup.

 

And if you read my comment properly(back to your amazing english skills) I never made mention of EFI pumps, although obviously you needed to so as to display your amazing automotive knowledge

Wouldnt u be better off with a sc12?

Depends on whats been done with the engine itself....I've known of a few SC14 5K's getting around, i think one was actually on a stock engine. And i would be replacing the mechanical with a low pressure electric jobbie also....just remember to put a fuel filter before the pump.

search for supercharged 4k, you will find a 16 page post with plenty of info to start off.

 

As for fuel pump remember, basic physics, your fuel pressure must be high than your boost pressure, so a 10psi pump should allow ~7 psi boost. Thats a rule of thumb to start off with, you can read and learn more yourself....
