i'd buy that thing just off the pics for that price! hell, i was going to buy it, but the partner has put the foot down and won't let me buy another car just for it to sit in the driveway... there was 5 cars there, but sold one earlier in the week.

found out that valves and pistons don't mix when they touch!!! :abuse:

 

Wow i thought that the 4AG was a full reciprocating engine, meaning that it was almost imposible to touch piston to valve.

Are you running massive cams?

 

Also did anyone read the article in the herald sun about the Black Spur? Cheeky police lying in the bushes in camos and a speed gun with another car up the road.

so i think i will be keeping clear of it until the dust settles.

apparently carbon was stuck on the seat valve, as the piston come back up, it bent the valves in cylinder no 4.

 

got it fully reconditioned now, so should be grouse to drive

I am a new member to rolla club, I recently bought a ae82 cs seca unreg/no rwc for $200. In the past 2 weeks i have been fixing it up, repaired the rust in the boot, put new seats in, painted the dash and surrounding interior and fixed a few little odds and ends on the car.

 

Got the car tested for rwc about 3 days ago, need new front indicator lens, rocker cover, windscreen, wipers, rear swaybar brushes, front brake hoses, engine mounts and new batt. I should have all this done in a week or so then i can take it down to vic roads and get some plates and come on this cruse with you guys.

 

count me in on the cruse, early may would be cool :abuse:

Sounds like you have got your work cut out for you! Good to see your motivated and the rolla looks pretty shmick in the pic. Did you colour the brand name of the tyre on the sidwalls white? Because that's a real old-school mod that you don't see too much nowadays.
