Fark, nice work man. I own one of these too. Just about everything I've done has been wrecker spec or discounted through net traders :) Just curious though, why not learn about mechanics on it as well as the whole detailing side of things? Its pretty much why I was happy to buy my car. Just so I could get some driving and mechanical experience. If I screwed up either I knew it was a cheap fix or at least I didn't waste too much on it in the first place.

Well I did say i was going to pick up my rolla on monday and yes today is monday and I DON'T have my rolla. I couldnt get the day off today. I am picking it up tomorrow the only thing is i can't get it on the road just yet. I didnt know that you have to book an appoitment at VICroads to get it regestered so it might be the end of the week b4 i get it on the road. Oh well sooner or later it WILL be on the road. I just want it back so i can keep doing more work on it :)

I will be respraying the car, I think i will be a massive learning curve for me as i will be doing it myself with the help of a few mates. I was thinking about painting it red like on the new voltswagon GTi golf. I would have everything colour coded, bumpers, mirrors, door handles etc.. all red. But then again i was thinking of maybe red over silver :) . Maybe when or if i see you on the lilydale cruise in may you could see the car in the flesh and tell me what you think. I will just look out for a smashed up white car lol just kiddn, :) What sort of car do you drive?

Ke38, should have it by then all rego'd in dads name but i honestly don't think he'll let me on the cruise as ill only have had my L's for a week or so lol.

So VW Red all over gunna be the go? Personally i'd go chrome happy and make as much things as possible shiny but thats just me cause I'm 16 in a few days :yes:

I'm not sure if i still want red but thats ages away (like three months!! lol) it's not that important just yet got bigger fish to fry like insalling big stereo with duel subs. :)

I have become an ae82 addict lately, bought my '86 cs-x Seca (5sp,air,steer,rego,cd,new tyres on factory 14"alloys)

All this for under $200 (just had a Few BIG holes in the engine that stopped it from running)

Got the car back today. Cost a bit but i am glad to see that green paper in my hand. :) Now just have to book it in to vic roads and get the reg.

I got offered a set of 17inch wheels and tires, only a month old for $800!! :hmm:

 

I really want to buy them but i'm not sure if they would rub on the guard or stick out too far on the sides. :hmm:

 

I got my mechanic to put one on my car just to see how it looks. I could only try it on the car while it was on the hoist coz the wheel nuts didn't come with rims. (I would have to buy a set) :)

Replaced my spare wheel cover board in the boot by going down to "bunnings warehouse" and buying a sheet of 6mm MDF for $10

 

I used the old wheel cover board as a template over the new sheet of MDF, copied it and cut it out with a jig saw. Sanded the edges smooth and drilled new holes for the tool holder.

Got the rolla booked in today at vic roads for next week to get reg and new plates. Had to wait about 35mins on hold with my prepaid phone just to book it in and then they charged me $34.00 for a booking fee. WTF??

Getting my rolla registered tomorrow. Woo Hoo!! :hmm: The long wait is over..

GOT MY CAR ON THE ROAD TODAY!! I was like a kid on christmas morning today. Got up about 7am. Drove down to bayswater and got brand new 15" Mags and tires put on. Then I went to vicroads and got my new plates. Yay. Ill post new pics soon...
