Medicine_Man
You buy them off the shelf or get them custom made?
Redwarf
I understand you can buy similar off the shelf, but this one's a custom jobbie. I can organize one if you like.....
Medicine_Man
Just contemplating what I should do in the way of a clutch for my 4AGE, how nasty is the price tag for a custom heavy duty clutch like yours?
irokin
Id like to know how it goes. How bitey it is caws I'm looking for a nice bitey clutch. Something that'll lockup when you dump it at 5000rpm. and how many $$$$
Super Jamie
don't run a button clutch on the street, it's not good, you'll either be doing burnouts everywhere, or you'll lunch it within a couple of months
Redwarf
I disagree. That's where the sprung centre makes a difference. It lets it have a bit of "give" that you wouldn't normally have. I already have one in the Dwarf, and it's great (cute little 3 puck). You can get away with the sprung centre unless ou have monster HP. Where the benefit is, is that once the clutch has taken up, you have virtually no clutch slip. It's hard to explain. Full buttons, like the one in Datgirl's 1600, are piggish, and take some getting use to, but they're not as bad as everyone thinks. Justin, come and try mine when it's going, and see what you think... R
Redwarf
At a guess, $300 +, but you'll wear out the flywheel before the clutch! :)
Super Jamie
perhaps that's where we went wrong. and it was behind a 380hp 2L :)
Redwarf
You're right, that kind of stick, you're likely to tear the guts out of a sprung one. I consider them to be good for Justin or Ben's purposes though. Not particularly cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Medicine_Man
In that case I might get in touch with you when it comes time to get hold of the clutch..

Carbons sticky up as they get hot
