Phat535 Posted January 12, 2005 Author Report Posted January 12, 2005 in that case a thousand appologies :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 a stock 3k can do statics in the dry (one wheelers, but hey) so if all you want to do is spin the treads, then just get the motor running properly. with the basic mods you're looking at (carb, cam, exhaust, head), i think you'll easily make at least 100hp, probably closer to 120, and that's plenty to make a decent smokeshow in an old corolla :) christ, you could probably even blow off a camry! :P just make sure you don't put good tires on the back, because the brakes suck so badly it's difficult to do a line lockie with power. mine just locks the fronts and pushes the car along. of course, you could just weld the diff, problem solved ;) Quote
demuire Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 ... and put big blocks of wood in front of the front tyres :P Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 i might just try the locker. i'm waiting for stewart to send me spare chromies he owes me so i can get some second hand skinnys and smoke em even then, 185/60/13 barums are only $69 ea Quote
ae71neo Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 (edited) I've got standard 4A-C in my ae71 running just under 44kw at the wheels. It spins easily in the wet, the only thing stopping it from holding it out atm is open diff. It does get sideways a bit in the dry, but i don't try burnouts, enough clunks coming from driveline atm. Oh and its got quality 175/70/13 classic 70s :) Edited January 13, 2005 by ae71neo Quote
Super Jamie Posted January 13, 2005 Report Posted January 13, 2005 ra. ho. yo. michael seymour managed to wind out 53kw at the treads from his 4a-c. his 4age is doing about 75kw at the moment Quote
