Folks,

I just added a section to the FAQ about engineering cars etc. Still needs editing, but its useable so far.

Read Me

I have researched stuff in Victoria and SA, but have no idea about any other states. I hear about mod plates and blue plates, but it all means nothing to me.

I was hoping someone else could fill in the other 6 gaps, or at least email me with a summary of what they had to do/who they had to talk to etc so that I can expand for all the states in Aus.

Please have a read, try to get an idea of what info I need to see and let me know. Or you could edit the wiki yourself.

Cheers.

Tom.

In NSW you read this:

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...ns_nov_2007.pdf

There is a table in the document outlining the maximum capacity increases etc.

Then ring one of these:

http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/registration/dow...es_apr_2008.pdf

Then take your certificate to a mechanic who can do a blue slip and a brown slip (change of details form), you need these even if the car is registered.

Then get a weighbridge certificate.

Then take the engineering certificate, blue slip, brown slip and the weighbridge certificate to the RTA and they give you a new rego sticker with a new ref. number printed on it.

Then its all legal.

Good work Philbey! Definitely something that's discussed a bit so good to have it in the wiki! i'll hopefully be able to update you in a couple of months as to whether my ke70+4age gets through. Still adding some finishing touches to make sure its all good! :lolcry:
