just wondering with putting a 4age into a ae71 will the diff,gearbox and tailshaft handle this extra power?

It *will* if you treat it with respect, if you start doing 7000RPM Clutch dumps, your destined to kill it..

i was talking to this guy today and he reckons hilux diff can be done quit easily, if i was to try a 4agze (i was gonna prob chuck a turbo-charger kit on it) how long would the g'box last with slight mods?

Got a spare $1000? That will get you a hilux diff fitted. If you're lucky.

 

Gearbox will last as long as you want it to.

nah i will have the money left ova and i would rather have it in than be stuck on the side off the road lol..

If your getting serious with the power, get a gearbox bellhousing adaptor from a 4AG > W55 and use a W55 or similar gearbox, it will take the power no troubles..

i know of a t series box and diff that have lasted the abuse of competitive drifting that behind a turbo 20v for 8months and counting... btw the car is making 150kw at the treads so i wouldnt worrie too much

Umm considering they come from the factory with the same box behind em I don't think you will have any problems. It takes a special kind of person to break a T-50 behind a 4AGE unless highly modded.

Heh, I've broken a few, with a stock 4AGE :D Then again, they were Celica T50s and not an AE86 T50...
