hey fellas. just bought i tacho got it all wired up sweet. only problem i need to wire a yellow wire up to some where to get the tacho lights to come on when i turn my car lights on..

grab a multimeter

 

find a wire in the dash cluster which has 12v switched by the headlights switch

ie.

headlights on = +12v

headlights off = 0v

 

tap in there for your yellow wire

ive got an old tacho sitting at home and i lost the wiring instructions for so I'm not sure how to do it

Any more info on the specific car you are wiring it to? What make/model?

 

Usually you wire it up to your park light circuit so when you turn your park lights on it will illuminate the tacho..

Just wire it to the park ligt fuse..

 

 

 

In most cases,

 

Green : neg of dizzy

Red : power

Black : earth

Yellow/white : park light fuse

Deffinately parks, not headights. If you wire it to the headlights, it'll probably turn off when you use high beam. on the parkers it won't. :fuzz:
