KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted August 13, 2008 Report Posted August 13, 2008 (edited) Hey all. After my KE25 rego ran out, i registered a celica to drive around. Got sick of that fairly quick, so i was searching again. Saw an ae82 twinky for sale (In Town, So much more appealing) so i just had to have a look. Went and had a look, and a drive. Was very happy with it, after a quick rust check and general look over decided to buy it. He was asking 1600, but i just asked what would he be willing to take. So i ended up paying $1000. Original good condition, hasnt been Molested for wheels, stereo etc. Interior is still in nice condition. White Paint (had a 50% chance of getting this colour anyway ;)) Will get some pics of it tomorrow. Might even whack it up on the hoist if i get a chance. corolla_nut Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Looks like you got an alright deal for 1K. any plans for it? what are you planning for the 25? Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted August 15, 2008 Author Report Posted August 15, 2008 Yeah not a bad deal at all. Just a daily driver. Want to change the wheels as the stocko ones are hidious IMO. Just something cheap but presentable. This will be my daily when the 25 is finished aswell. So i don't have to worry as much about having to leave the 25 anywhere unsafe. The 25 is going to be getting a strip down rebuild starting in the next few months hopefully. Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted October 6, 2008 Author Report Posted October 6, 2008 ....................................currently parked in the middle of an outback village busted. Engine spun a bearing. Parked up came home. Might be parting it out if its worth my while. Keeping engine, loom and computer for myself if i do Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 6, 2008 Report Posted October 6, 2008 Is that a Toyota Blizzard? If so you wanna run a tape measure from the front wheel centre to the rear one for me please? Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted October 7, 2008 Author Report Posted October 7, 2008 Are you referring to the 4x4? If so its a daihatsu. So not sure if its what your after. Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted October 14, 2008 Author Report Posted October 14, 2008 Got it home last night and pulled the sump off. Having a look at the bearings and got through them all and found out it was #4 bigend bearing that went. There was enough room beween the conrod and the bearing itself for us to move the piston up and down about 3mm or so in total. Quote
