  1. "Dubstep is so dirty it makes 2 girls one cup look like a disney movie" "Dubstep, the music that sounds like 2 transformers having aggressive sex" I'm loving dubstep at the moment. always good to pump up the day.
  2. Names Jake. Live in Bathurst. Have a brown ke70 with 13x8 superlites.
  3. Hey all. A few months ago i decided on going out and buying a nicer newer car to drive around and then look at doing modifications to my rolla later on. So i was looking for an rx7 but when i saw this WRX for sale i thought thats the one...now it is the one. Details of the car are as follows: 1997 Subaru WRX Really dark window tint Front mount with "custom" bumper DVD player, Subwoofer, Etc. Standard rims Standard suspension 3" Turbo back exhaust Blow off valve Its a great car to drive and is fast enough to get into trouble which i try very hard not to. Plans are to drive it as is for a while and maybe do it up later on suspension and engine wise. will add some photos when my internet isnt slow
  4. Yea they are taken after the cut springs. I can't go lower because the springs are too soft and ill shred my tyres on the guards at every bump. lol. i need to roll/flare them out before it goes lower. or just get stiffer suspension. I need to Get a move on with the engine transplant/build. I have bits i can do, just need time and motivation.
  5. Hey all, Picked this up a while ago with a suspected blown engine, so i bought it to just chuck another engine into it. So i inspected it to see how it was and what the problem was, i couldnt find any visible fault. So i put charge to it and it started up and ran fine. Let it warm up a bit then took it for a drive. Drove good, just felt like it needed a bit of a tune up. Came back looked under the bonnet and it had a coolant leak or stream if you like coming from the thermostat housing. Pulled that apart and found it had been dodgy'ed up very badly, new gasket over old one with silicon. So i cleaned it all up and sealed it up using silicon (Good old liquid gasket!!!) and then started to drive it daily. adjusted the timing and havent had any problems with it since. It has previously been in an accident but has been repaired to an extent, still some underlying bent parts which wont take much to fix up. i have a new bonnet and guard i need to get painted. But I'm very happy with it. It has had factory rust proofing done and interior care. Only found 3 minor rust spots over the whole car, and the interior is good just has a few stains and the like. I had some rims lying around (13x8 superlites) so i put tyres on them and put them on the car (after making sure they would fit first being 13x8's and all), had standard steelies on it when i bought it. Lowered it by 1 coil all round just so it wasnt higher than my hilux. Hoping to put a 4agte into it. I have a 4agze in pieces i need to rebuild (freshen up) just don't have the funds behind me. Will be doing suspension with the assistance of Fat Bastard Customs also when funds permit. Ran out of rego the other week, hopefully will be done before it comes back on the road. Anyways heres some photo's, will upload more when my phone is not being homo.
  6. Now u just need to paint the underside of the bonnet. :P Nah looks good beau.
  7. Good Job Mate. Stance looks good, Especially with the bonnet up.
  8. Saw a VE GTS Black with the plates "EXCON" Suited the car to a T
  9. Robert, You might want to have a talk with beau (Fat Bastard Customs), He is my suspension Guru. He can help you out with many ways to make your rolla handle well. and has some info about certain race setups pleople have used. He has told me but i wouldnt know how to explain it. Hope this helps. He is in Bathurst too.
  10. I have no corolla anymore, But if Beau ends up coming down i may have to hit him up for chief passenger duties. :P
  11. Note i said shocks...i didnt mention all the rest of the stuff  Give me a yell when u need a hand with anything. I got the next few weekends free. I guessed it wont cost as much as the rolla though.
  12. Fair enough. How long term are you looking? eg: timeframe. Either way i know it will be quality (seeing as how you spent $2000 on shocks for your rolla, it would want to be quality)
  13. BTW Beau. You said the word "1UZ" 7 times in your last post as opposed to 4 times for "350" Therefore by that information you should go for a 1UZ. There you go facts not just shouting.
  14. In the grand scheme of things its F-all debt. But with my wage its hard to get a hold of it. And i don't have a Loan or a Credit card or anything like that. Just built up bills and a bent car, a fine etc. Nothing really worth whinging about really. What does really grind my gears is having all these corolla parts in my yard, and not having a corolla to use them on. don't really want to sell them as i want to get another rolla to do up. Just again no money to get one.
  15. The times ive tried left foot braking, ive ended up going through the windscreen. My left foot is used for pushing a pedal all the way to the floor, so force of habit tells me to.... brake pedal doesnt go that far  WGMG and most peoples...Debt. That is all
  16. So where are these ones staying? With the rona's? When u picking them up?
  17. This has come up before... Scary Scary stuff
  18. Nah not the stock wheel. I had an ae82 twincam wheel in it. And track as in superspritns and hillclimbs to start with.
  19. hey guys. cheers for the support. I am ok but i can't say much for non retracting seatbelts. chest is still very sore for a low speed impact. What happened was i came around a left hand corner and the steering wheel came out of my hand mid corner and straightened the car up, heading straight for the truck stopped at the lights going the other ay. got the steering wheel back but couldnt swing it back around far enough and hit the back wheels of the truck. Michael who was behind me at the time says that my back wheel hit the inside gutter which is probably what caused the jolt of the steering wheel out of my hand. Its very disheartening, but amazing how much support i had from my friends and workmates, even though it wasnt all that serious. i am unsure what ill be doing with the car. I wont be getting rid of that is for sure. Depending on the condition of the chassis i might repair it during a rebuild for the road, or if its too bad ill get is as close to straight as i can and ill use it for track. Its not as overrated as it looks in the pictures and i havent actually put that much work into it. Its all been Basic cosmetics to get it looking as good as i can with what i had. It has a bit of rust coming through in patches, has a lot of bog which is cracking in places, paint is fairly dodgy around the edges, crowsfoot in places, etc etc. I'm going to stip it down and go from there i guess. Will keep this thread updated more. Ill also upload some more photo's when i get them off my camera. Cheers Jake
  20. Same block, Has different crank though. Has a 6 bolt flywheel where the 4age is 8 bolt. You can get away with a simple head swap, But i would use a 4age bottom end as i know it is suited to rev to nearly 8000rpm stock. Not sure about the 4ac conrods being the same, but the pistons are different aswell. The 4ac one don't have cutouts for the valves in them, Making it an interferance motor which could be costly in the event of a timing belt failure. IMO most people don't work with the 4ac because it is so easy to put a 4age in. It uses the same mounting, same gearbox. So if you have a car with a 4ac in it already its just easy to put a 4age in it, and if your converting a k-series car to a-series its as much work to get a 4ac in there as it is to do a 4age, so people put in the extra effort and extra cost for the extra power, and performance support.
