These SU's that you have posted a pic up of are my brothers. He bought the linkage kit from Red line in Sydney which use to be Lynx. He only bought the kit earlier this year but he did have to modify it abit due to the parts that hold the shaft flex. the kit only cost him about $115 and is alot simpler than making your own. one thing you do have to do is make somthing to hold the acelerator cable on to the top shaft and make sure every thing is in align to make them work smoothly as well.

 

can you also see the pic of my brothers is different to yours where the fuel bowls are on the out side and are a matched pair of carbys and yours are two single carby's on a twin mainifold

Myles, there's a number of options you could use. you could put an off the shelf generic linkage on the throttle shaft etc. I don't think you need to run a second throttle shaft like rolla_boy70s brother, you should be able to run one straight off the linkage shaft

 

EDIT - Take a look at brendans first picture you'll see there's no secondary shaft, the cable just runs straight to the linkage shaft. Should be EASY to fix.

 

Just a tip - go buy a book on SU's, how they work, tuning etc and read it before you just slap them on the car.

found some info but only how to use them and get them tuned i polished my SU's up ad are ready to go on might try make a bracket this weekend! :dance:

Is the accelerator linkage a cable setup?

 

Shouldnt be too hard to make a simple "twist" bracket that will run to on of the linkages (there is a connecting rod between the two linkages by the looks of it)

I'd take the throttle wheel (the wheel where the throttle cable wraps around) and find a way to attach it to the throttle shaft. that way you could use your original throttle cable.

These pics are from my twin SU set-up I had before I decided that Twin Dellortos offer better performance.

 

As you can see in the pics, It shows the lever in the middle of the linkages that allows a cable to be attached.

 

Mine were also a matched pair, unlike the ones you have myles which are two individual SU's.
