Jasons 1978 Ke30

Thought it was about time i made myself a rides thread.

So i passed my VORT test and decided i should get a car to putt around in on my P's. So I bought this beast for $500 with rego back in September off a lady who's mum had it since new. Always liked this model corolla and always wanted one.

Luckily this was the first car i clicked on on carsales lol. ENJOY!

 

Stats:

1978 Mustard Gold KE30

stock 3k (goes hard)

13" alloys on bridgestone turanzas

Taco

Woodgrain steering wheel.

 

This is what it was like when i bought it:

 

everything totally stock except for the KE55 grille

 

There is a fair bit of rust on the bonnet, front guards, and front doors. Plus a few dents here and there.

 

 

 

But no rust in rear quarters!!

 

 

Fortunately i have all the new parts to make it look schmick (don't have pics atm).

Its hopefully being resprayed late january :'( . Well thats the plan anyway.

And this is the new steering wheel that i got yesterday. And its ADR approved :'(

 

 

 

It looks and feels great.

 

Also got the pioneer head unit with 6x9 pioneers in the rear.

Another white interior. looks neat as. If you ever sell, scrap this car for any unfortunate reason (hope you never have to) I would love the interior, as it seems to be rare, especially in your condition.

If your going to cut holes in the front door trim for speakers, you can have mine speakers, mounts and all for swaps (depending if yours are overrated).

Btw nice choice for the photos, mmm Hackam :y:

any planes for engine mods?

yea hackham ftw lol

i'm plannin on doing a worked 4k or 5k depending on what i can find at the time i want a new engine

but i'm happy with it atm. as for the trims. they're in pretty good condition so might swap if i want speakers in the front.

small update...

upgraded my headlights to ke55 lights yesterday

fills out the grille alot nicer and now i can actually see at night time lol
