anybody here put a race seat in a ke20 or 25 (or any corolla for that matter) that they were happy with? what was it? not too fussed about fixed or reclining, just comfy and supporting

i scored a cobra clubman for free a while back, and made some adaptors up out of 8mm steel strap, but it sits too high so my legs hit the steering wheel if i lift off the pedal, and my knee hits the gearknob in 5th. i even drilled all the holes so they line up first go too, rare for me :D

I have/had SAAS buckets in the celica. The adapter for me put the seat a little bit too high but it was enough to annoy me. And then the drivers seat broke so I swapped back to the stock one. Passenger still gets a bucket but :D

I loved it when it was in there. Saved you having to try and hang onto the steering wheel to keep you in place and you could concentrate on driving. I think something like a fixed back seat would go nicely because you basically sit on the bottom of it instead of a huge metal frame.

haha hows this for timing. Dad just fixed my other bucket seat today. Now I have to decide if I wanna put it back in. (he was testing out his new workshop layout...)

iv got a Racetech 4009, very comfy, its a fixed back bucket which cost me around $599nz, but it holds me in nicely and has good padding and is also FIA approved, easy to get out of as well, but hampered a bit with a rollcage in the car.

Jamie: Haha, maybe you could convince me to sell mine so I can buy something nicer. Oh wait, I have no money... Bah! :D

How did Rob mount his seats in Dwarf? They were a good height?

Mmm, some of the Velo seats are really rather nice. I like the ones in Peter Stamfords awesome RS200 Esky... Actually, even the ones in Dwarf were really nice :D

sitting in redwrf was more comfy than being in my bed. i'm not kidding! i could never buy velos, i'd sleep in my car at nights, then go to drive somewhere and suffer from driver fatigue :D

buy yourself some velos for your birthday fookie, treat yourself :D then sell me daytonas

Birthday? What birthday? Isn't my birthday in October? No, I'm not getting old. Not yet anyway.

And unfortunately, more so because of recent events with Hal, I have no money, for anything really. So no, no Velo's for my birthday, whenever that is. In fact, geez I don't think I'm even doing ANYTHING for my birthday. Not that it's coming up anytime soon... Yes, it must be in October. 18th. Yes, that's when my birthday is.

Jamie, my nav bought a Sparco Sprint Jr for himself in the EVO2. I know he paid less than $500 for it. Mounts in well, and I don't think you will have height issues. I actually have more issues mounting seats in the 55 than in the 25. I'll take some piccies for you if you like. My Velo is a side mount, but the Sparco is a bottom mount.......

AHH cos i was thinking of how the rails looked on those velos and how i'd bolt my bottom mount seat :D

one of the guys on oldrollas is running stratos recliners in his 25 with good results too. seems i'm going to have to pony up a few hundred at least to get a good seat, or two

This is the Velo GP90 in Bluey. In Red we still had it mounted to the standard runners, but we had to make the seat a bit lower in Blue, hence sitting on the floor.
