sidney Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 hey when i'm just cruising along, my car is generally noisy all over even though its not the engine that's making the noise. It's hard to explain, but its coming from the rear of the car I think, and my uncle thinks it could be a worn bearing or something in the diff. Do you think it could be something serious? It's kinda like a whirring of air noise, but not like when you are reversing. Very hard to explain. Has this happened to anybody? cheers Quote
Raven Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 Mine makes noise. You'll need to get the preload set on the diff. I'll be doing this to my locker :) Quote
Super Jamie Posted December 30, 2008 Report Posted December 30, 2008 dude, go to a mechanic "my car makes a whining noise, i think it's from here" is not something you can even try to accurately diagnose over the internet Quote
smeetsy1 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 mine started making that whirring noise, 3 weeks later it blew... get it checked out  Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted January 1, 2009 Report Posted January 1, 2009 have you checked the oil in diff for metallic bits and level? I would suggest using a good brand 85 140 gear oil will quieten it down and also make it last longer. Quote
love ke70 Posted January 2, 2009 Report Posted January 2, 2009 worn diff gears would be the likely guess. just drive it til it breaks, mine went 2 years on rooted bearings and only replaced them when i had to, to sell it Quote
