Well, thanks to JAMIE and his sweeping out of the garage, i've decided to once again have a go at doing up the panelvan. :blinks:

THIS time it's going to be functional, i'm planning to have a go at some sort of racing in it. Eventually. No, really I mean it... ;)

It seems others here have a good time being out of pocket and spending little time with loved ones... (uh, I mean having an absolutely f@$king fantastic time belting around, dickwaving and fixing things when they break! :D)

I'm planning to get the engine rebuilt or at least freshened up around the cam and pistons i've bought. I'll probably go and visit Mr Frawley again, this time with a slightly better understanding of what I want, and some specs which he can build around/for.

Stupidly, I threw out the Holley I had lying around, because we were moving and at the time I didn't think i'd need it again, so i'm on the hunt for a suitable carby. :D The 5K in my old yellow rolla had a 32/36 DGV Weber on it, and I really liked the sound and power it gave the engine. I'll also be after some extractors.

Oh, and any tips from the Gods on anything i'll need to know would be sweet.

Specs:

4K with soon to get:

- ACL 040 oersize pistons

- Waggott 212 grind camshaft

- no smoke :D

Body needs rust repair, TLC and grey Hammertone respray (wishing there)

Electrics need looking at, instrument cluster no worky, lights etc.. (HOOray)

Cobra racing seat - Blue

Race-spec interior (IE: f@$k all ;))

Let The Party Begin

Cheers, Matt :D

Nah I haven't picked the stuff up from Jamie yet Nicko, and the exhaust etc is a given

I'll also be after some extractors.
:D :blinks:

Hmm, it shouldn't be THAT much different from the 5K. It had extractors, 2" exhaust, 32/36 and it hauled nicely off the mark for essentially a stock motor, but maybe our definitions are different?

/me looks @ Rob.. Anything "spare" mate

my 5k has still only got the single row timing chain and it works fine.....however the dual one prolly would last longer and be less prone to stretchage.

haha i swear i had a whole registered ke25 around here somewhere :S consider getting your engine machining done somewhere, but built it yourself. you'll save heaps on labour. if i did it, anyone can

always good to hear another corolla project see the light of day :wootjump:

efi certainly would make tuning your fuel delivery alot easier, not to mention giving the thing a buttload more torque, smoothness and driveability down low. i reckon it would go well :P

eh you know who i meant..

*prods warwick* sorry man.. :D

oh, btw i'm posting your calendar today :kiwi:

also, if anyone has any spare KE70 instrument clusters on the cheap, pref a tacho one that'd be nice, as i think mine is stuffed.. i could get it fixed, but a tacho one would be nicer :y:

Update Time...

So, unfortunately i've found out that i can't use the pistons as they're stuffed.. too worn.. Such is 2nd hand :P

They'll probably make a cool ornament of some kind, so i'll probably polish 'em up or some shit.. one day

mr frawley is also going to give the cam a good measurement, cause it's started life as a Waggot 212 grind, but somewhere along the line has been re-profiled as the measurements don't match the spec sheet.

Hopefully it's still usable, else i'll be making a mobile out of it and the pistons :D

But nevermind, if it seems I can't use the parts, i've found something that gives me VERY bad ideas... all i'll say is ke70 panelvan + V8 = omgwtfbbq :)

which reminds me, is there any sort of program that can help you work out power - weight ratios etc?

*sigh* cars are fun!
