KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 spray some wd40 under the distributer cap. Quote

SLO-030 Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 yea, try blowing the distributor internals dry with compressed air. Quote
Jason KE30 Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 this happened to me once. me and my dad spent over an hour trying to figure out the problem. we tried everything that you've tried. turned out it was just a wire that got knocked off the coil. fired right up after we placed it back on. Johno Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) I heard that you can steam clean any Japanese engine. My Datsun, corona, pulsar and corolla have never had a problem getting wet. I have never covered up a dizzy. My fords are another story. XD XF and EA ran like dogs for about half a day after i cleaned them. Edit. Never cleaned the EL cos i am worried it wont start after. Its running like a dog now, Guess its just a ford.. Edited February 7, 2009 by Johno Quote
BReNt Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 spray some wd40 under the distributer cap. I second this. I usually do it before I degrease/pressure wash the engine but it will still work if you do it after. Quote
dirty30 Posted February 8, 2009 Author Report Posted February 8, 2009 problem solved thanks for the info. Quote
