Hiro Protagonist Posted February 10, 2009 Report Posted February 10, 2009 hey i just bought r set of trx rims 4 my ke 55 and i was just wonderin if they will fit straight on or do they need spacers thanks raff I do believe they fit, but surely that should have been something to check BEFORE you bought them? Never a good idea to buy something if you don't know whether or not it'll fit..... Quote

bezender Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 i have some lined up for my ke36 wagon... I'm guessing they will fit that too? anyone know if they scrub with steering? cheers anyone? got a fair trek out to chek them out, and my rolla is not on the road atm, so a test fit will be difficult Quote
kangaroosa Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 I was going to put them on my KE30 for engineering. Have decided they wont work with my setup, but they will with standard rolla running gear. You will need hub centric rings front and rear. Yes they bolt on though. Quote
bezender Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 awesome thanks. I'm guessing the hubcentric spacers are needed to clear the calipers? Quote
kangaroosa Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 Nope, they are not spacers. They are rings that are placed in the bore of the wheel (or on your hub) which help locate the wheel securely on the hub. Rather than the weight of the car being loaded directly onto the wheel studs. Like these EBAY But you will have to order the right sizes to suit your application. Quote
bezender Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) awesome thanks mate might get hubcentric spacers made in any case, so i can get the wheels nicely in the guards Edited February 14, 2009 by bezender Quote
kangaroosa Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 The wheels fit fine inside the gaurds and fill them out pretty well. Why use Illegal spacers to get the look you desire whilst rendering your car unroadworthy and any insurance that you have will become null and void. You can also buy the hub centric rings you need off ebay. The Corolla hubs are 60mm and the trx wheels bore are around 69mm. No need to go paying for custom made stuff. Quote
bezender Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 sweet, thanks for the info, was having a bit of a struggle finding the hub size of the trx rim and the turbo renders my car unroadworthy to start with, spacers arent going to hurt much.... but ur right, why make it obvious hey Quote
kangaroosa Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) Not so much that, but the fact that i have had an un-insured driver hit my car. My insurance sorted it all out, but it was all set to go to court at one stage. So much of a hassle because people have no regard for others or are too tight. Uninsured drivers really give me the *#@!s, hence my rant. Goodluck with it all, and i hope for your sake and others, that you have an incident free future.
