demuire Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 This is an interesting piece of machinery... AWD bike  Quote
ancullen Posted May 10, 2005 Report Posted May 10, 2005 Curious. Suzuki or Yamaha (can't remember which) are actually releasing or have already released a two-wheel drive 2-wheel bike. I don't know if it's full-time 2WD (AWD) though. I think it's Yamaha, and it's a dirt bike, not a sports bike or even a cruiser. Quote
demuire Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) I like Akira bike  "ceramic, double-rotor two-wheel drive, computer-controlled anti-lock brakes, 12,000 rpms" More info Edited May 10, 2005 by demuire Quote

demuire Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 Not quite Akira spec, but pretty friggin cool anyway  Quote
demuire Posted May 10, 2005 Author Report Posted May 10, 2005 AWD pushy... That's an interesting thought. Would it even be of much benefit? I suppose for a mountain bike, if you're riding up a muddy hill or something... How on earth do those work? It looks like a driveshaft? Bizzare! Quote
ancullen Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Would be good up slippery steep hills as the extra grip would be of great benefit. I imagine going downhill would be improved as well. Quote
Super Jamie Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 it would be good for just coolness value  Quote
ancullen Posted May 11, 2005 Report Posted May 11, 2005 Oh, the money that has been wasted by people on coolness value. Did I mention my Galant has been lowered??? Quote
irokin Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 Mum bought what you might be able to call a "awd" bike. Its basically got an electric motor in the front wheel hub to give you a bit of a boost when you need it. Apparently it goes really well (but I'm too heavy to try it...*grumble* don't ever work in a pizza store...being 6"4 doesnt help either...) Quote
Nitephyre Posted May 14, 2005 Report Posted May 14, 2005 I like boobies :) damn, i want an Akirabike  Quote
