Evan G Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 hi there, i got a 4 speed and a trimatic that I'm going to sell. should i pull it down/reco it/sell it a bit more? at least the person who will be buying them will have a peice of mind and not "i dunno the condition of it, i was told it kinda works" but theres no point paying $180 for a transmission rebuild kit and sell it for $100 opions? cheers Evan Quote
styler Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 you would never get your money back, or the time and effort rebuilding it properly... auto boxes often go for free and 4spd manuals are usually quite cheap. 5spds are the only gearbox really worth anything and if you had it rebuilt maybe a bit more? Evan G Posted July 30, 2009 Author Report Posted July 30, 2009 I'm getting a 5 speed aswell but I'm gonna reco it and put in mine Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 Agree with Styler. :D The going rate for a K40 is about $50 for a good one. Yes maybe a reco'd one would be worth say $200, but no-one is going to pay that for a K40 when they can have an "as is, where is" K50 for $100 or so. Auto is basically a give away box. :D Quote
Falken_KE30 Posted July 30, 2009 Report Posted July 30, 2009 (edited) i gave away 2 autos, and have given away atleast 5 K40's over the years. Sold a K50 for a KE30/55 for $200. but it was in perfect nick :D Edited July 30, 2009 by Falken_KE30 Quote
