anastasios Posted October 26, 2009 Author Report Posted October 26, 2009 also whats the ideal spark plug gap to use? i bought some NGK BP6EY, do i leave them how they come from factory? Quote
Taz_Rx Posted October 26, 2009 Report Posted October 26, 2009 well I'm using hydro lifters and rocker gear from the 5k, so it should all be sweet yea? Just do it and find out, can't say 100%. If its not right they'll either be noicable tight or loose. If they feel really tight then do a quick comp test to make sure they're not holding valves open. also whats the ideal spark plug gap to use? i bought some NGK BP6EY, do i leave them how they come from factory? Factory should be pretty close, but for as much effort that it takes its worth checking them. Should be 0.8mm  Quote
anastasios Posted November 1, 2009 Author Report Posted November 1, 2009 hey guys do you think this gap between my fan and my water pump is bad, as the shaft hits the inside bit? I should be able to tighten it up with some nuts but there is that 1mm or so gap Quote
Felix Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 Still have a gap when you fit the belt pulley? Quote
philbey Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 he's eco friendly and has gone windpower only on his waterpump. Best post ever. Quote

anastasios Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) ok new question, why are the rocker bolts chamferd? i have 3 bolts that i think are from the original hydraulic rocker gear and they seem to have a higher chamfer than the normal 4k bolts, i will get pics when i can, also i think the hydraulic ones are longer, does oil run inside those posts where the bolt goes? i doubt it will i be able to use the shorter 4k bolts with the hydro rocker posts, ill get pics when i get home from work whats the point of the chamfered part, and why is there wear on the bolts themselves, it seems there is something inside the posts that stops them going in nicely, is this normal? Taz_Rx Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Use the 4k bolts as they're better than the 5k ones. :( Quote
anastasios Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 lmao your a legend, why do you think they are better? ive trusted you with heaps hopefully it all goes well :( Quote
anastasios Posted November 3, 2009 Author Report Posted November 3, 2009 ok also is it ok if a few of the hydro rocker arms move a bit? is this because the lifters arent filled with oil yet? Quote
Felix Posted November 4, 2009 Report Posted November 4, 2009 (edited) ok also is it ok if a few of the hydro rocker arms move a bit? is this because the lifters arent filled with oil yet? Hopefully it is due to the lifters not being primed. If your pushrods are from a dished piston motor and you are running a flattop head, you might be shit out of luck. anastasios Posted November 4, 2009 Author Report Posted November 4, 2009 would shaving the posts due to the increased lift in the cam fix this problem? i have also had the head shaved, so wouldnt the pushrods if anything be longer? or is the shaving an insignificant amount Quote
