hosedogg Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 (edited) hey everyone. just thought i'd finally share that i have another ke36 now. a while ago i bought seabiscuits ke36 of him, just haven't bothered to upload anything onto here about it yet as the wagz is still in canberra. and i now live back in wodonga 4 hours away from canberra. so the car is currently staying at my cousins place in canberra and he is doing all the rust repairs for me and spraying the car. which is good as i can't bring the car down here untill i get my license back, which isnt for about another year and a half ;) anyways, just to make sure that i don't lose interest in it i thought i better post up on here about it, here's a link to seabiscuits thread from the car http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=24477 since purchasing it all i have done is get it to my cousins place and fit a thermo fan and battery as it didnt have a fan at all and the battery was stuffed. i've got some plans for it, but they wont be able to happen for a long time. and if i say them on here everyone will call me a dreamer so would rather wait till i actually have the engine and box sitting here ready to go in before letting in on the plans of the engine swap :2thumbs: and i never had a chance to take any pictures of it yet, but the next time i'm in canberra i will be taking quite a few pics of it no doubt. cheers Matt. PMP020 Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 its purple bro!! is your cousin spraying it a different colour? cool wags either way :2thumbs: cheers, scott Quote
hosedogg Posted October 31, 2009 Author Report Posted October 31, 2009 yeah getting spray painted also. more then likely going to be a light blue like my old ke36 was. got no license till july in 2011 so i got some time to get it to be a neat little wagz :2thumbs: Quote
hosedogg Posted November 18, 2009 Author Report Posted November 18, 2009 everyone throw up some engine idea's for me as i need to decide on what to do. the engine conversion itself wont be getting started for about a year and a half. but i want to have it all worked out sometime soon. to start saving and slowly getting bits and pieces. pretty much so far i have thought of: ls2 6 litre speed 3rz 2.7 turbo 3sgte sr20det 4agte 5kte 13bt and yes i do realise how much it'll end up costing me hence the reason as to why i am waiting so long before actually starting it. JJT036 Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 Here are some ideas for ya: - 302 Windsor + C4 Auto - 253, 307, 308, or 350 + Powerglide, Trimatic - RB26DETT + RB30 Gearbox (if possible) I'm liking the LS2 6.0L idea but would take alot of mods to keep the car together. Cheers, Josh :y: Quote
SLO-030 Posted November 19, 2009 Report Posted November 19, 2009 4agte, simply for the amount of parts popping up now to do the conversion in pre-E7 models. 3RZ-TE, tried and tested method of getting an old ke36/38 moving along quite nicely. Just ask Curly. +1 for 3RZ :y: Quote
hosedogg Posted November 25, 2009 Author Report Posted November 25, 2009 i also have remembered i have a spare 3k and 5k sitting in my uncles backyard in canberra and a spare k40 lol. oh and another 2 stock ke3x 13's. maybe get them widened... logic keeps telling me to just stick with the 5k i have at my uncles place. then the love of boost and power makes me want to crack at least 200rwkw  have 2 different colour choices in mind also. 1st is the really light metallic blue on the bf xr's can't think of the name atm. the other is gloss white, for a sleeper apeal. the factory colour of the car is white also. SLO-030 Posted November 25, 2009 Report Posted November 25, 2009 If you want sleeper appeal, go for the stock metalic brown. Quote
hosedogg Posted November 26, 2009 Author Report Posted November 26, 2009 nah, i'd leave it the purple before painting it brown  Quote
seabiscuit Posted November 26, 2009 Report Posted November 26, 2009 logic keeps telling me to just stick with the 5k i have at my uncles place. then the love of boost and power makes me want to crack at least 200rwkw  I like your optimism, Matt! But unfortunately, you probably won't see more than 130rwkw without expensive mods like custom manifolds, NOS, etc. 130RWKW is pretty quick, though! That's about the same as the first of the WRX's. That would be a nice 5k to show off! Take care of Grimus, Matty! I hope you did more than I did to improve it  Quote
hosedogg Posted December 9, 2009 Author Report Posted December 9, 2009 its still up there in canberra cousin hasnt had time to do the rust yet. i'm coming up for summernats and will do whatever i can on it then. also i'm talking with a mate of mine about getting an exhaust manifold made up and inlet plenum made up for the 5k i have. with a 5k the aim would be more at around the 160rwkw on about 20psi. and trust me that wont be expensive compared to what i'm chasing in the vl lol. just for the turbo, manifold, wastegate, oil and water lines i'm up for $4,200. thats 6boost manifold, turbosmart gate, braided oil and water lines, garrett gt3582r.
