JiP Posted December 3, 2009 Report Posted December 3, 2009 I bought this car with the intention of selling it. So I bought it home and cleaned it up. Sadly I haven't gotten any decent offers on it even after I dropped the price by a fair amount. So i'm thinking if I can get my shit together in the new year I might fix the small amount of rust in it, new tires with flappers and maybe a venetian. Its missing a few things like the drivers mirror, one chrome wheel surround, the bonnet Valient badge and the grill badge. Here's how she looks.... orangeLJ Posted December 4, 2009 Report Posted December 4, 2009 Nice and tidy! how much were you hoping to get for it originally? Quote
JiP Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 I had it listed for $4,000, then dropped it to $2,500 and got offered $1,000. I'll just hold onto it and see where I take it. Quote

JiP Posted December 4, 2009 Author Report Posted December 4, 2009 Really? Last time I was there they had nothing. Infact I rang, they said yes, I travelled, paid entry and got f@$ked by them again. I might have to make a trip sometime soon. Quote

JJT036 Posted December 5, 2009 Report Posted December 5, 2009 Grandpa...!!! Nice VALIANT you have there JiP. Other than the Driver's Side Mirror being broken, it must be a Grouse Cruizer. Cheers, Josh :D Quote
JiP Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 Doing so much research on this car tonight. Found and bought the missing bonnet badge, grille badge and a brochure. Also looked into buying a set of flappers and venetian. Good thing is there is a guy on ebay selling rubbers for the doors and windows. Just need to find someone who'll do the boot, Also found this which I thought was cool. Looks to be the updated version as its two years after my car... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JQtEmBAhVg&NR=1 Quote
JiP Posted December 28, 2009 Author Report Posted December 28, 2009 haha 1976 American ad... Looks a little similar to the AE82 South African ad Quote
JJT036 Posted January 1, 2010 Report Posted January 1, 2010 Also found this which I thought was cool. Looks to be the updated version as its two years after my car...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JQtEmBAhVg&NR=1 What a grouse Ad. I've never really heard of the song before, but the Lyrics matched the Ad perfectly. Josh :) Quote
JiP Posted January 7, 2010 Author Report Posted January 7, 2010 Been doing alot of research for parts. Trying to see what other cars I can get my needed parts from. So far this is all I have. Its from a Chrysler Centura... I have bought the bonnet badge and a couple brochures which are in the mail. I've also tracked down rubbers for the whole car, but they will come within time. Flappers for the wheels. And a rear venetian. I still need to replace the tires too. Sadly the vinyl roof may need replacing. The neighbourhood car has had a go at it. :lolcry: So I'll be looking at a whole retrim. I also joined a Sigma-Galant forum and they already want me to plan a cruise for Brisbane. So I've got to hurry up and get the beast on the road. Quote
JiP Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 And the items that came today... I only need the Valiant badge. Its for the Bonnet... This brochure of the 1977 model... And the price listing for that year... Still waiting on the Australian brochure to come back from America. Quote
Bamboo Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 Jip, did you see the galant ad a couple of months ago on aussie top gear? I've got a copy if you need it. As for the badges, i've got a few Val badges which are exactly the same. Side story....my brother had a 1980 Mitsu ute badged as a chrysler....gold Quote
JiP Posted January 8, 2010 Author Report Posted January 8, 2010 thanks dude. Badges should be all sorted for now. I'd be keen to see that add tho if you don't mind. :lolcry: Yeah Chrysler imported Mitsubishi's in the 70's as they couldn't afford to design and make their own. Quote
